There is spice that I personally enjoyed, but it’s not an overwhelming amount if that’s not your thing. It might be that I was just devouring the book and reading it as fast as humanly possible because I couldn’t put it down, but, you know. Even though we know the answers, it was compelling to watch Stevie try to piece together what happened in the time she lost and consider whether she really needs to recover it or whether she should embrace the opportunity to start fresh.

Ama having a bit of an imposter syndrome made sense, however, she seemed a bit too naive at times and that annoyed me. Meanwhile, Nora has to eat her own heart, watching and hoping that somehow she and Stevie can still be together. I really enjoyed the pacing of the story and appreciated being able to see some of Stevie and Nora's relationship before all shit hit the fan.I nod to myself, feeling slightly guilty for not having watched the two she sent me… but not guilty enough to actually watch them. But tragedy strikes and Stevie has a horrible accident that has left her with no memories of the last 2 years. They never had the same views on the marriages and thats what led to their downfall and it broke my heart to see Elliot crying because he just wanted something more from Ama and she couldn't give it to him.

I read it so fast, and I might actually go back to the beginning and start over because it’s SO GOOD!When Ama started her own business, she eventually warmed her way into Elliot's heart, and they started doing business together, which developed into something much more meaningful over time, and they fell in love. That’s saying something too because I just got glasses so I’ve been seeing things in a whole new light, but this cover still takes the cake. Journey with her, and she may even inspire you to take action for nature and head out on your own low-carbon adventure.

I enjoyed She gets the Girl a lot and this story, while much more heartbreaking, was just as well written and full of relatable characters. She wakes up not remembering anything, but worse still – not remembering that she has a wonderful girlfriend, and an escape plan. They're both afraid of commitment, but they decide to confront their fears for the sake of their emotions and try again. Also talking someone into getting married to someone that they don’t like just because you think it’s your job to get them down the isle and then justifying that they can get divorced and married again is insane. I mean, the first time Elliot appears on the page, I was HOOKED, and all he did was say Ama’s name over the phone. i feel like amnesia is a somewhat-common fanfiction trope, but i actually can’t think of any published books with a main character who has amnesia. And even though Nora would never admit it, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind being able to go back to sleep right now. Wasting no time, next I head straight to the Welsh coast, where I travel to Pembrokeshire to try and spot Britain's smallest cetacean feeding amid the infamous tidal races and renewable energy developments.

Told from both Stevie’s first person point of view and Nora’s journal this book explores the question are some people just meant to be together irregardless of the obstacles put in their path.Of course, two of my favorite tropes - enemies to lovers and grumpy meets sunshine - are perfectly blended into their love story! And when she comes to, she can remember nothing of the last two years—not California, not coming to terms with her sexuality, not even Nora. Back home to Devon and into a kayak, I travel down a swollen, autumnal river to try and understand why, in the face of climate change, the epic salmon run might become a feat of the past. I usually hate when the breakup reason isn't revealed until much later on, but I didn't mind it in here! And I get some people had their own fears related to marriage and I completely understand that about her but she always knew what Elliot wanted from her and I liked how she was clear about her insecurities and intentions towards marriage with him.
