As you might imagine, it’s a fun track that has Smith playing host to a raucous discussion about a wide variety of topics, many of which even relate to the making of the film. I’m not sure that the downer part of the ending was really necessary, but I assume it was Kevin Smith’s way of saying that this part of the View Askewniverse has run its course. Like Woody Allen, he has made a nice living out of making movies that don’t have to gross north of a billion dollars worldwide to be profitable. This Blu-ray release has something really unique, that I can not find anywhere online: the commentary by Kev and main actors of the movie.

Alas, this seems to become another domain where Smith shows a steep dropoff, as least as demonstrated by this spotty discussion - and Smith deserves the blame, as he dominates. little raucous at times, as should probably be expected, but will be a fun experience for Clerks fans. There’s also an extended set of outtakes at the end featuring Michelle Buteau’s character, who is absolutely hilarious and frequently causes the other actors to blow their takes. physical media a "must have" in this increasingly streaming day and age is someone to be celebrated. This turns into a real disappointment because Smith used to feel like the guy who didn't want to just gush praise all the time.Though 2020 brought back Jay and Bob for another headline adventure, the Clerks franchise stayed idle – until now, that is. Footnote: at the 97-minute mark, Smith offers some narration to discuss the actual Quick Stop and his experiences.

It focuses on a near death event having one trying to instantly do more with their life and at the same time waxing nostalgic for their better days. There’s a great documentary on the artist, Chesley Bonestell: A Brush the Future, and you can see the same shot from the film in the doc below, with Mars rendered in the correct orange color.

The result is a surprisingly poignant, sometimes even dark, film that's brimming with life and love.

In the past 10 years at Why So Blu, Brandon has amassed over 1,500 reviews of 4K, Blu-ray and DVD titles. It’s a well-framed film with a nice range of hues, but it tends to appear flat with variable flesh tones and merely decent black levels.

It’s small tidbits of information that devoted Smith fans, myself included, will pick up on and that makes this film resonate much, MUCH, deeper with them. In all seriousness, I hope it is at least 4 discs total, so that Clerks 2 still includes the bonus features disc.
