More expensive products also have extra features such a light, to help with night feeds and nappy changes. If you own a Tommee Tippee baby sleeping bag like the Grobag, the tog rating colour system you see on your baby’s sleepwear will match the temperature colours on the Groegg2, which makes it easier for you to dress your baby in the appropriate sleeping bag thickness for the room temperature. After 12 months of consistent use with a baby, from the newborn stage all the way to toddlerhood, I think the Groegg2 is an accurate and well-designed baby thermometer that’s easy to use, simple to interpret and worth the spend, but only if you feel you need the extra reassurance. But is the popular and affordable Groegg2 as accurate as it needs to be to help put parents’ minds at ease?

It’s quite subtle, the light doesn’t fill the whole room but just stays local to the egg, even on red all night, which of course it was last night! It is compact and lightweight, making it convenient to take with you when traveling or staying overnight at different locations. Making sure your baby’s room isn’t too hot or cold is VERY important, with a temperature between 16 and 20 degrees ideal for their safety and comfort, whether it's during the day or night. Now one worry every parent has is that their child is warm enough, not too warm, cool enough or not too cool! Some of our partners may process your data as a part of their legitimate business interest without asking for consent. The Gro Clock comes with Gro Clock instructions and a story book that you read as part of your bedtime routine that explains to the child in a fun way how the clock works. The SleepSafe Star is a stylish room thermometer that will glow blue when the room is too cold (less than 14C), green when the room is just right (15-20C), amber when the room is getting warm (21-26C) and red when the room is too hot (over 27C), so you’ll know when to take action.

The Gro-Egg also comes with instructions on what a baby should wear when the room is each temperature. While it might not be a product parents think to add to their newborn essentials list, most find a room thermometer to be an invaluable piece of kit to help take the guesswork out of keeping their baby’s nursery at the right temperature.

One thing to note is that the Groegg2 responds to body heat when held, so it needs to be placed on a flat surface to display the correct temperature. Parents can also refer to special charts that will show how much or little bedding a baby needs at certain temperatures. The colours of the Groegg coordinate with the colour codes on the tog ratings of Grobags, helping you to easily decide which tog Grobag to dress your baby in.

A: While the Groegg2 is marketed as a nursery thermometer, it can be used in other rooms of the house as well. As such, this thermometer has been extremely helpful for me to have on hand, particularly during the warmer months. This makes it easier for parents to decide how to dress their children for bedtime for a comfortable night’s sleep. This helps make choosing what baby should wear at bedtime for a comfortable night’s sleep much easier for parents, helping everyone to get a better night’s sleep. It's a simple to use, colour-coded model that lets you clearly see if the temperature is too hot, too cold or just right.

The idea is that the child learns that when they can see the sun (on the clock) it’s day time and they can get up for the day and when they can see the stars they should be asleep. As mum to a now 14-month-old, I’ve been able to test the Groegg2 out in my own home, using it consistently for naps and during the night to monitor the temperature in my daughter’s room. Obviously I don’t have the 2 egg to compare but I’m quite happy with the 1 and wouldn’t bother paying the extra. You press a button on the underside of the unit to alter the brightness levels and the padded feet mean you can place the Groegg2 anywhere without surfaces getting scratched. I’m planning on having it in our room in the early days and using it as a night light for when I’m waking up to feed.

Powered via USB, it changes colour depending on the temperature of your baby’s room, letting you know when it’s too hot so that you can remove clothing or bedding or simply cool the room down to ensure they don’t overheat. The Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump is a convenient, portable and discreet pump designed for occasional use at home or away. If the room temperature is outside this range, take action to cool or heat the room, or adjust the baby’s bedding or clothing.Alexandra: Yes I would I am not aware of many products which tell you the temperature of the room and give yoh a guide in this way I like the warm night light and compared to other night lights it doesn't get too hot which is fantastic as little hand get everywhere I have also been concerned with lights that get hot. While I’ve used it all year round, this room thermometer was particularly helpful and reassuring during last year’s summer heatwave when I lived in a south-facing, one-bed flat with a then two-month-old baby who I needed to keep cool at all times. The color of the Groegg2 changes based on the room temperature, making it easier to identify whether the room is too cold, too warm, or within the recommended temperature range. We've lived in a few different houses since our first child and some have just been too cold, others too hot and it really helps to know so we can adjust the heating or where baby sleeps. Also, the size is great and is just a lovely addition to a shelf, chest of drawers etc and it somehow makes the room feel cosy.
