Description

The soles are made for trails and hills, although they are not as deep lugged as some of inov-8’s footwear that is made for steeper and muddier terrain. I have found the soles to be ideal for local woodland trails and hill paths.

The boots are lightweight and immediately comfortable. I agree with inov-8’s claim that the boots fit and feel like trail running shoes. I felt like I had a spring in my step when walking in the boots. I am not sure that the Graphene-infused G-FLY™ foam “supercharged” my feet, but certainly these are very comfortable boots with good cushioning. The boot also features a pioneering ADAPTER-FLEX™ groove that allows it to adapt and react to theterrain with the type of agility usually reserved for trail running shoes, GRAPHENE-GRIP™ rubber thatensures the world’s toughest traction over all types of ground, and a super-comfortable upper thatperfectly balances the need for support, protection and breathability. Personal: A- (I really like the Rocfly G 390 as a lightweight hiker and will continue use it throughout the winter) The ROCFLY G 390 aims to make that question a little easier with a shoe that aspires to take the best of both worlds, providing the stability and ankle support of a boot crossed with the agility and ground feel of a trail runner.

Agile and comfortable, the lightweight inov-8 Rocfly G 390 hiking boots have a host of innovative features

Lightweight footwear is really popular for through-hikers and ultralight hikers, but has not had a good reputation for lasting very long. Inov-8 have over come this by adding Graphene to their soles and I’ve found this will more than double the mileage they’ll probably do. Inov-8 Roclite G 345 GTX boots sole wear after 1200 miles The “Graphene Grip” rubber really is incredibly robust, paired with the “G-Fly” foam and you have a strong and grippy sole that’s adaptable to the trail, and still provides a lot of cushioning The ride is clearly ideal for not only for any day hike but for many day treks and for that matter uses where you are standing on your feet all day. And recall, it took James Forrest to that incredible 500 mile off roads record across the most rugged parts of the UK in less than 16 days. I can see how! Best 3 season hiking boots that I’ve ever worn, hands down. I think they are pretty good value for money considering how long they should last and how comfortable they are.

We’d recommend looking at the size guide which shows the approximate length of each size’s midsole in centimetres.Although lined with a Gore-Tex membrane, the boots do let in some water when it is raining. I think this is due to the mid-height ankle cuff. The ingress is not too bad but if you will be walking in heavy rain and where vegetation is soaked, you might want to add gaiters. GET A GRIP: 4mm rubber lugs enhanced by the world’s strongest material – Graphene – give long-lasting tough grip over all terrains. I think the soles are not far from being the same as some Hoka shoes and boots. (Hoka is well known for deeper soles and high levels of cushioning.)
