Description

Violet, the youngest of the four Lambright sisters, has always been a bit wild. She moves to Florida to live with her sister as she seeks her independence and considers leaving the Amish way of life. She works as a waitress and drives her own car. Her beauty and free spirit attract a lot of male attention like Levi, who is also Amish. When she first meets Dan Hunter, it is his little red sports car that she admires first, but while dating Dan, Levi keeps trying to make Violet commit to him. Can she settle on who should have her heart and how to live out her faith? When Alana meets James during a trip with friends at a beach they start up a conversation. They both go together to look for shark teeth which I thought was interesting. Everything is going well until Alana cuts her foot. Looks like fun is over as she needs to go get stitches on her foot. If the Seaford Esplanade Car Park is full, then thankfully, there are some alternative places where you can park for the day.

It’s roughly 30 minutes from the start of this walk and is a great option for those looking to combine a seaside city break with a dose of nature. Soon she finds a job she enjoys that lets her sell her art work there, too. She also meets James. He is not Amish, but a Christian and soon to be teaching in a Christian school. After a traumatic breakup, Alana heads to Florida to stay with her sister. Once there, she thinks about living there permanently, and if she really wants to join the Amish church. There are some currents in the relationship between sisters that run so dark and so deep, it’s better for the people swimming on the surface never to know what’s beneath . . . The 4th and final story in the book is A Sarasota Sunset. This story brings in Leora, Violet, & Francine's sister Alana. Alana decided to come to Florida to get away from her anxieties at home in Indiana. The live-action remake of Disney’s The Little Mermaid made a couple of changes to the animated classic, among them Ariel’s sisters, who even though appear in the movie, are very different from their animated versions. The list of Disney’s live-action remakes continues to grow, and now part of it is The Little Mermaid. Director Rob Marshall and writer David Magee took the 1989 animated classic (based on the 1837 fairy tale of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen) and brought it to life with Halle Bailey as Princess Ariel and Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric. That said, I was reasonably gripped and wanted to keep reading on. One of the biggest things I enjoyed about it was the travel element and the description of the places that the sisters has travelled. The author has been to all these places herself and it shows; her travel writing is very evocative. Also, ultimately, I just wanted to know how Mia had died as my curiosity had been peaked.

By following Mia’s journey as well as following her journal a day at a time Katie starts to uncover secrets that may answer the questions that are causing so much pain. It’s a thrilling and perceptive debut which captures the complex relationship between sisters and loss at its rawest. Trust us, you won’t be able to put it down." - Cosmopolitan Wanda’s ancestors were part of the Anabaptist faith, and her novels are based on personal research intended to accurately portray the Amish way of life. Her books are well-read and trusted by many Amish, who credit her for giving readers a deeper understanding of the people and their customs.I'm pretty conflicted on this book. Initially I enjoyed the premise: Mia sets off traveling after the death of her mother and dies whilst in Bali, a country that was never on her original route. The authorities tell her sister Katie, her only remaining family, that she committed suicide but her sister knows this cant be true and tries to retrace her steps using Mia's travel journal to uncover what really happened. Very minimal introduction needed here as their interview says it all… we might have a crush on Charlotte and Angus, the duo behind Sea Sisters and the East London Canning Co. Francine has no desire to leave the Amish, but ever since she and Matthew broke up, she has felt down in the dumps. She goes to stay with her sister, Leora, hoping the change will do her good.

Leora gets a job at the local bakery inside the Amish restaurant, Der Dutchman. She loves baking and the job is perfect for her. Also, she gets to work alongside her friend, Karen.Brighton is the largest out of the three recommendations and is full of atmosphere and things to do. She had a young young boy that she was 'walking out' with named Ben, and something bad happened with the two of them. Because of that, Alana needed to get away. Ben had said some, very awful things to her, even though, she apologized profusely, as well as, helped him the best she could. He told her right then & there, he was done with her, and he didn't even know why he had asked her out to start with!
