This will be the first thing you do. It’s designed to show you where you are as far as your fitness level goes. More than that, it tells you if you’re ready to begin Insanity. What if the test tells you you’re not ready? Honestly, I don’t know. After month one, there’s a week-long “recovery” period. Now, we hope your love-hate relationship with Core Cardio & Balance leans more towards love because you’ll do it for six straight days.

With the Core Cardio and Balance workout, you’ll mark the halfway point with a “break,” if you can call it that. That’s when you’ll gear up for month two.

If you're not familiar with Zumba, it's a high-intensity workout where each of your movements is synchronised to the beat of the music, encouraging you to push harder. The exercises are varied and include movements like squats, planks and burpees, all designed to give you a full-body, intense workout. On one hand, it’s good for beginners, because it does everything with your own body weight and form to work out. On the other hand, it’s extremely intense and requires a proper form for the exercises you do, otherwise, you risk hurting yourself. You’ll have unlimited access to the other 40-something Beachbody programs, recipes, online and phone support, and many other helpful benefits that are only available to members.
