Description

For the undead purple, I started with a base coat of Naggaroth Night, building up through to Phoenican Purple and finally Kakophoni Purple for the very brightest points, which gave it a slightly pastel tone to add that pallid finish. This is the video I originally got the idea from, and while I haven't tried it out myself, a friend used a variation on the Imperial Fist version for their 30k primaris marines below: Cult of the Warmason by CL Werner is primarily about the Sisters of Battle going up against a Genestealer Cults infestation on the shrine world of Lubentina. Fulgurite Copper was the basecoat for the molten insides, as well as the flames. I shaded it with thinned Fyreslayer Flesh, and drybrushed the raised flames with a mix of 50% Fulgurite Copper and 50% Stormhost Silver. With the release of Maloghurst just around the corner, and a potential large Heresy box-set coming out with plenty of Mk VI and Cataphractii, part of me is looking to re-starting a XVIth Legion force.

For the ridged sections between any carapace plates, basecoat with Xereus Purple and shade with Druchii Violet Jaggard, Victoria (20 November 2007). "Photo in the News: Grotto of Rome's Founders Revealed". National Geographic News. National Geographic. Archived from the original on 21 November 2007 . Retrieved 21 November 2007. Also wondering, Maloghurst and the Sons of Horus Legion Praetor from FW probably are painted in the same color scheme, but Maloghurst has cream top highlights and desaturated legs (Sons of Horus green ?) The spear and green details were painted using the same colours as my Sons of Velmorn cloth – it just works for so many details and textures, giving them a slightly unnatural stone. Perfect for a god-like creature like the Avatar of Khaine. Flesh Tearers Red: This bold, fiery red paint would provide a dramatic contrast to the cool tones of Lupercal Green, creating a look that is energetic and exciting.I painted the whole cape Gal Vorbak Red, with two thin coats. I then layered up with Khorne Red, a blend of Khorne Red and Mephiston Red, Mephiston Red, and then a last highlight of a blend of Mephiston Red and Averland Sunset. http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/en_US/media/e588d28183cec31ffd6dcee6d3718fc3.cms/equivalencias-rev05.pdf

For the characters, I kept the same elements but reconfigured. The Primus is obviously quite similar to the Cultists, but the Magus trades some of the blue for his rich purple robes.Mutant Innards (Tongues, Tentacles, Exposed Muscle, Blood Vials): – Base with Daemonette Flesh. – Wash with Guilliman Blue (if available) or 50/50 Tallasar Blue/Contrast Medium – Carefully Highlight with Warpfiend Grey. – Edge Highlight with Slaanesh Grey. Blue/Grey Cloth: – Base with Dark Reaper. – Wash with Coelia Greenshade. – Highlight with Dark Reaper. – Edge Highlight with Thunderhawk Blue. Most P3 Paints do not match closely with the old GW range, but a detailed explanation of each paint can be found here: http://www.brushthralls.com/pre-painting-prep/color-theory-10p3.html

Green Chitin and Cloth: – Wash with Terradon Turquoise. – Layer with Lupercal Green, leaving the deepest recesses. – Highlight with Kabalite Green, focusing on the raised areas of the cloth/carapace. – Edge Highlight with Sybarite Green – Edge Highlight any bladed/horned parts of the carapace with Dawnstone. (Larger areas of Chitin on Metamorphs/Purestrains, Patriarch can be carefully Drybrushed instead for a more naturalistic, less clean look). The characters have a lot of gems and such, which I painted orange as a contrasting colour. Recipe-wise, the key colours are as below.Another layer, adding more Pallid Wych Flesh focussed on the sharpest edges and most raised surfaces. To get river/lake looking shiny I just kinda pour some gloss varnish from the bottle on, you will want a paper clip or something to poke any bubbles. The penultimate step is painting the rims with your choice of paint, in this case I used dryad to match my Tyranids. The last model thing the models need is to throw on some tufts, I like using these ones from Gamers Grass:

A good source for inspiration for Genecult colour schemes is to look at their tentacle-mawed gods’s own. After all, it’d make sense they wanna emulate the giant space bugs they’re desperately trying to summon right? The 2019 codex features 2 minor cults that do this with the Sons of Jormungandr and the Behemoid Undercult parroting the schemes for Hive Fleets Jormungandr and Behemoth respectively, with and this formed the basis for my own cult’s scheme based off the cold minty chitin of Hive Fleet Tiamet. Purple: Naggaroth Night and then Xereus Purple (I love, love Xereus Purple), washed Druchii Violet, and then re-layered Xereus on the higher parts and highlighted with, fittingly, Genestealer Purple. Prepare basic fleshtone mix from Slaanesh Grey, Cadian Fleshtone, and Ushabti Bone (5:3:1). I made a whole batch of this in a dropper bottle for all of my first to third generation Genestealers, so that the tone would be consistent across units. Hereafter I’ll refer to this as Genestealer Flesh Mix. The Wolf, at this point for me, was two different colors – a dark grey up top, and a lighter grey at the bottom. I sought to unify these colors by giving them both a light drybrush of Fenrisian Grey and then Wolf Grey. The whole assembly was then carefully coated with Contrast Space Wolves Grey, to give it a look much different from the rest of the model. The “bone bits” of the dangling skulls, teeth, and claws were painted with Screaming Skull, and then washed with Skeleton Horde.

Discussion

Its location below Augustus' residence was thought to be significant; Octavian, before he became Augustus, had considered taking the name Romulus to indicate that he intended to found Rome anew. [5] [6] Opposing opinions [ edit ] Space Wolves – A loyalist Space Marine army in the Warhammer 40K universe, and their color scheme often features deep greens and blues. Lupercal Green would be a great choice for painting the armor, weapons, and other details on Space Wolves miniatures, helping to bring out the fierce, predatory nature of the Space Wolves and their legendary leader, Leman Russ. Being lazy about waiting for the chipping medium to dry, since the medium behaves weirdly through the airbrush I find it tends to pool occasionally resulting in areas that take longer to dry. You can exploit this by just not quite letting it dry in those spots as it will give a good impression of a larger patch of paint falling off after a bit of gentle rubbing with a damp brush.
