Specialist brand Sidas was established by a group of ski instructors who wanted to make skier’s feet more comfortable. Fast forward nearly 50 years and you don’t have to be a skier to love the brand. From running and hiking to just going about your daily life, Sidas says its products can help to eliminate foot pain. Emma was the perfect candidate to try out these Enertor insoles, which are designed to help relieve the symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis. Why were you interested in doing an Enertor insoles review? I am primarily a trail runner and when I’m healthy, I’m logging up to 50 miles a week. I vary my runs 80/20 in favour of trails. Trainer insoles are probably not at the top of your running accessories must-buy list. However, a good insole can really help if you suffer from foot pain or other running injuries. The Enertor insoles are designed to replace the insole that comes in your trainer as standard, upgrading your under-foot experience. Here is our Enertor insoles review. So that on my long runs I wouldn’t have the pain in my arches I tend to get even after running in a supportive pair of trainers. Do you have any injuries?

For twenty years, as RSscan Lab Ltd, we have been helping Premier League Footballers, Tour De France winners and Olympic champions to stay injury-free and perform better, with our made-to-measure insoles They were comfy! I didn’t even feel like I was wearing insoles they were that comfy. The only problem I had was on the longer runs I did, I didn’t feel I had the support or that there was enough padding for my feet. Who do you think these insoles would be good for? In my classes they were great, especially with the high-impact work I do in Clubbercise. On my shorter runs of up to six miles, I didn’t have any problems or pain. On my longer runs of up to 14 miles, I still had twinges in my arches. Did you notice a difference in the impact when you ran or exercised? Much is made of the issue of over-pronation, and while this can be disruptive to effective propulsion, the aim of orthotic therapy is to control pronation, not to eliminate it,’ says Warner. The type of device recommended should be one that offers optimal control of your foot while keeping bulk and weight to a minimum,’ says Warner. ‘The design should reflect the activity being undertaken as well as your own biomechanics, and a device suited for sprinting may not be as effective if used for middle- or long-distance running.’ How do insoles help your running?

For those who have been unable to find suitable 'off the shelf insoles' or who are unable to visit a clinic In some cases, it may be that all that’s necessary to overcome the problem is to advise on stretching and strengthening muscles allied to good footwear. If you are experiencing symptoms, particularly if they are sudden and severe or have been long-standing or recurrent, it is advisable to seek a professional opinion.’ How do you find the right insole for your needs as a runner? I definitely noticed a difference with my classes and on the shorter runs. Were there activities when you noticed no difference? We asked Stephen Warner, podiatrist and clinical educator at Market Street Clinic, why you would wear a running insole, and how to choose the best insole for you.The efficacy is dependent on the underlying problem and achieving a good balance between the individual via their foot, the orthosis and the shoe,’ he says. ‘Assessing whether or not an orthotic insole would be beneficial requires undergoing a biomechanical/musculoskeletal examination carried out by a podiatrist or physiotherapist, who is able to evaluate your gait and joint functions to assess the best approach to your problem.

I have to say they are comfy and do what they are supposed to (with a little support where it’s needed). Enertor® are delighted to share their products and knowledge with England Athletics registered athletes, coaches and clubs offering discounts and information to all levels and ages. Enertor® will bring their knowledge and expertise on injury prevention and pain relief to all England Athletics members, educating coaches and athletes across the nation, with the opportunity for all to access discounts on their industry-leading insoles. My exercise classes (bootcamp and Clubbercise), as well as both short and long runs. Did you notice a difference in the support of your arches? The result of the visit may include simple advice through off-the-shelf orthotic options or adapted devices, all the way up to custom-made functional orthoses. Orthoses alone will not elevate your performance from casual runner to Olympic standard, but they may help you to gradually improve your PB.In some cases, this may mean achieving a compromise, as the underlying mechanics may be too extreme to get full control. While this may reduce symptoms, it’s not always possible to eliminate them completely,’ says Warner.

They were comfortable to wear in my support trainers, and overall I would recommend these to the community. The result is a simple, comfortable insole that offers good support for the arch of your feet. We found they didn’t lose their shape and didn’t smell – even though they got absolutely soaked on several occasions thanks to the unseasonal weather. To give the Enertor insoles a real run for their money, we asked one Run Mummy Run community member to give them a try. Meet Emma Preston, who is from the West Midlands. At 43, she has been running for just over five years. She describes herself as a ‘heavy-footed runner’ and overpronates, meaning she needs support trainers when running. She also suffers with Plantar Fasciitis on and off, which is made worse by longer runs. For over twenty years, Enertor, a UK based company, has been helping elite and recreational runners, Tour de France winners, triathletes and Olympic champions stay injury-free and perform better, with outstanding insoles, built on a foundation of breakthrough technology and industry leading knowledge. Independently proven to reduce pain and injury for 91% of people, Enertor are the insole brand of choice for the British Army, and are a provider to the NHS. Voted the 'best overall insoles' by the Independent in 2021and being good enough for the World’s fastest man, Enertor are delighted to give our athletics community access to years of expertise and knowledge, and insoles to reduce pain and chance of injury for all. Membership offers The roll call of athletes linked to Enertor is impressive. The brand says it’s not only helped Premier League footballers and Tour de France winners, but its insoles are endorsed and worn by none other than Olympic superstar and eight-time gold medallist Usain Bolt.I got on really well with this product for all of my exercise classes, which are high impact. I didn’t have any arch niggles, where normally I would have to roll my feet after every class, so that’s a real big bonus for me. Shorter-distance runners, high-impact exercise classes, and those who wish to have a little extra support on a day-to-day basis. What are your three best things about the Enertor insoles? On my longer runs up to 14 miles, I still had pain in my arches. How did they feel to wear in general? On my shorter runs, like parkrun and 10k, I had no pain, which was great – my arches felt supported.
