A quote that motivates one to achieve goals is best. This quote-list to reach for the stars will be perfect for you. The way that the book is written is so sharp and insightful, it was such an easy read that I literally couldn't put it down. I read the whole thing in few days. Scott We had to lie and tell anyone that asked that Sean had glandular fever. We knew that he was having a breakdown and he’d left. But the label wanted to make sure that Kingsize was going to sell so they said we couldn’t tell anyone.

In short: Great read for anyone interested in the late 90s/ early 2000s pop industry in the UK - whether this is because you're a fan of the music or want to find out more about how the industry worked. (Though I imagine it's a lot less enjoyable if you don't know the bands: LOTS of names.) Claire I remember Pete Waterman going crazy and causing a real stink because if it wasn’t us who should have won, Five were in that category, Cleopatra. It was all the new pop of the time. No one could believe it.

Jump into the middle of things, get your hands dirty, fall flat on your face, and then reach for the stars." My three daughters love this book, we’ve already read it many times today. It’s such a lovey book to share with your kids. At night, we'll lie down on the ground and look up really far. I'll teach you how the asteroids become our shooting stars." All of this shiny, happy, factory-formed pop was catnip to critics who saw music loved by children, girls, gay men, and large amounts of the population, as inferior. Something to be grown out of." For being brave does not mean that nothing makes you scared. It means you never let your fear prevent the dreams you've dared."

Dreams are like stars. You may never touch them, but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny." I LOVED this book! It tells the ‘story’ of British pop music from 96-06 starting with the explosion of the spice girls in 1996. As someone who was 10 in 96 and an avid pop fan throughout the late 90s this was a brilliant read. Lots of insight from producers, band members, journalists (eg smash hits, totp magazine( it flows right up to the emergence of pop idol, X factor etc and how that changed the world of pop music , as does streaming and the closure of high st record stores. Probably a robbery … Steps smile through losing out to indie’s Belle and Sebastian. Photograph: JMEnternational/Getty ImagesSean The label were in a rush and they didn’t want to wait, so they convinced the band to use a cardboard cut-out of me [in the video for Let’s Dance]. It did hurt a little bit. It was like the label saying, “Well, he’s so miserable anyway and he’s not smiling and he’s so quiet that he might as well have been a cardboard cut-out.” That’s what it felt like to me. Stars are echoes of the past. It's important to look to them for guidance, but as long as people reach for them, they never realize the beauty and potential awaiting just in front of them." Ritchie I personally harbour no ill-will to J or Abs. I would want nothing more than to hear that they’re happily getting on with their lives. J was quite a domineering character and he wanted things done his way. He was willing to get that point across in a physical way sometimes.
