Outdoor camera rugged and waterproof. A rugged chassis you can rely on in the harshest conditions. Exceptional 14 meter waterproof (up to 2 hours) and 1.6 meter shockproof.

When the camera detects low-lighting conditions in still-image shooting, this mode automatically raises the sensitivity up to as high as ISO 6400, making it possible to use a higher shutter speed and effectively minimize the adverse effect of camera shake and subject shake when dealing with poor lighting conditions. B&H – B&H is a world renowned supplier of all the gear photographers, videographers, and cinematographers need and want to create their very best work.

The outdoor camera's LCD monitor offers convenient adjustability to suit different ambient lighting conditions. Firstly, this adaptability ensures optimal viewing comfort and enhances the overall shooting experience. Moreover, it provides a practical solution for challenging lighting situations. In addition, when facing bright sunlight, the monitor brightness can be increased by up to two steps, effectively improving visibility in darker areas of the display. Why is Ricoh WG-80 better than Ricoh WG-6?

Continuous shooting and Burst shooting: These features allow you to capture fast-paced action or fleeting moments with a rapid succession of shots, ensuring you never miss a crucial moment. Recording capacity shows approximate number of shots recorded during CIPA-compliant testing. Actual performance may vary depending on operating conditions.

The Ricoh WG-80 is a camera that could have been so much more. But, unfortunately, Ricoh just slapped a new coat of paint on an old camera, slightly upgraded the macro ring lights around the lens and called it good. During movie recording, this mode effectively compensates for the misalignment of images caused by camera shake through the use of exclusive software to produce beautiful, blur-free movie clips. When recording still images, this advanced shake-reduction mechanism effectively compensates for camera shake by digitally processing affected images. When the camera detects the face of a portrait subject, a convenient feature is triggered: the macro LEDs positioned around the lens will illuminate, providing a visual indicator of your subject's position within the frame. This ensures precise composition and helps you capture the perfect shot.

User reviews

Then there’s the LCD. It isn’t very good. The LCD panel only has a resolution of 230k dots. When reviewing your images, it’s almost impossible to tell if your photo is in focus. The viewing angles are horrendous too. Look at the screen from above or below, and it washes out. This makes it hard to compose your shot if you’re shooting down low. You also have a Green mode option that lets you instantly restore defaults by pressing the green button. x 1080 @ 30p, MOV, H.264, Linear PCM1280 x 720 @ 120p, MOV, H.264, Linear PCM1280 x 720 @ 60p, MOV, H.264, Linear PCM1280 x 720 @ 30p, MOV, H.264, Linear PCM AF assist lamp: This built-in lamp aids autofocus performance in low-light conditions, ensuring accurate and reliable focus acquisition.

The WG-80's HDR mode (left) doesn't do as good a job as the iPhone 13 (right) in capturing this scene with mixed illumination (Credit: Jim Fisher) But, indoors and with fast-moving subjects, even a mid-level smartphone will get better results. The Ricoh WG-80 only has a 1 fps burst at full resolution, making action photography difficult. That’s the biggest disappointment to me since the rugged build would, in theory, be great for photographing skiers, water skiers, and other water-filled, drop-likely action. In limited light, images get grainy pretty fast. Face detection autofocus and auto exposure for up to 32 subjects: This intelligent technology ensures precise focus and accurate exposure when capturing portraits or group shots, optimizing the overall image quality. Slideshow, Image Rotation, Small Face Filter, Ink Rubbing Filter, Collage, Digital Filter(B&W / Sepia, Toy Camera, Retro, Color, Extract Color, Color Emphasis, High Contrast, Starburst, Soft, Fish-eye, Brightness, Miniature), HDR Filter, Original Frame, Movie Edit, Red-eye Edit, Resize, Cropping, Image Copy, Protect, Start-up ScreenFace Detection AF&AE is available for all modes up to 32 faces. Smile Capture, Self-portrait Assist, Self-portrait Assist + Smile Capture, Blink Detection You can now customize pictures according to your subject or personal taste using the WG-80 outdoor camera, thanks to its array of six image tone options. These options include the new Cross Process feature, which imparts unique coloring reminiscent of cross-processing film development techniques*. Additionally, you can choose the Vibrant option for rich, bright, and vivid colors, or opt for the Slide Film setting to achieve dynamic, high-contrast images similar to those produced by reversal film.
