Apart from that it is a great box, this is my second box and I really like the ease of it to assemble and work. That sounds like plenty but that’s standard definition though so record 4K and you’ll only have 60 hours. Their condition is so perfect that you probably wouldn’t be able to tell them apart from brand new ones.

It’s important to hook the YouView box’s HDMI output up to the correct HDMI port on your TV, as many only have one 4K input.

What would be the compelling reasons to take their packages and the new STB, compared to subscribing directly to Now TV and BT sport and then streaming on the likes of Apple TV box?

At least the service doesn’t slow down with more people using it, as BT uses multicast to deliver TV. In a nice addition, there's also a Watch List option – letting you keep track of things you'd like to give a look at some point, without committing to recording them. The good news, as hinted last year ( here), is that BT’s new STB finally appears to be catching up with some of their rivals, at least on the technology front. It’s also worth checking the BT site for compatibility, as some older TVs will not play nicely with this box.I also have a Humax Freesat PVR which gives me better reception for the channels broadcast on the temporary low power Freeview MUXes such as BBC4 HD but since that has joined the Digitalstream in no longer being supported by BBC iPlayer then Youview is the go to device for watching the free catch up services on my main TV (casting from my tablet or HDMI from my laptop are other options especially for subscription services not available on BT Youview such as Now TV for sport and MotoGP Video Pass - which I am trialling for the off season test sessions as a potential alternative to staying with BT TV / Sport). At first, only Premier League football matches will get the Atmos treatment, but other sports and potentially TV and movies will follow. The skip period on the T3-R is selectable, but doesn't have the flexibility of the Toppy, which could assign various values to the coloured buttons. There will be, we assume, more channels in the future with 4K content but at the moment it is fairly sparse.
