I am not much of a “crossing that bridge when we get there” sort of fellow, so I hatch a backup plan, which involves staking out this area and then following Patrick at a discreet distance. Just when you think you have it all figured out, there's another Coben twist, and believe me when I tell you that he saves the most stunning twist for the very end.

Patrick Moore—that is the boy’s name—leans against the graffiti-littered concrete support of the underpass.I'm not going to spoil the experience for other readers so suffice it to say that we're immediately brought up to date on what's happened since we last saw most of the characters.

If you are new to the series, go ahead and start with Deal Breaker and enjoy getting to know Myron, Win, Esperanza, and Big Cyndi. I think Coben should incorporate these two as a team for a great twist in a future book, I love them as much as I do Win who is the most likeable psychopath ever created. The relationships that integrate his characters, not only with each other, but in the plot line is superb; anyone who has read a book by Harlan Coben knows he is the master of converging multiple storylines that are seemingly unrelated into one complex finale to blow your mind. I also liked the fact that Mickey - Myron's nephew who I have just read about in the YA series he features in - was also in the story with his crime solving friends Ema and Spoon. As I saunter toward the three thugs, wishing I had an umbrella to twirl for maximum effect, I can feel their confidence growing.

Though one of the more darker adventures in the Myron Bolitar thriller series; the sense of humour [with an eye on the absurd] make Home, an energetic and exciting read, and one that belays the complexity of the plot by its easy going narrative. And, a tip Harlan Coben’s Home doesn’t require a bookmark as it is hard to put the book down once the spine is broken, as your hands will appear glued to the binding. I have been a HUGE fan of Coben’s from the beginning and have read every Myron Bolitar as it was published. I don't want to give away spoilers so I'll just say there's A LOT of murder and mayhem in the story, and Myron and Win get to show off plenty of their combat skills.

Coben might have lost his touch in the years taken off from writing the escapades of his BFFs Myron and Win, but I’m happy to report that all is as it should be, and our dynamic duo is better than ever. And, for the first time ever, several chapters are told in the first-person narrative through Win’s perspective, allowing readers an inside look at the thinking and personality of Myron’s sidekick like never before. Years ago, the two boys have left years ago in the care of Vada Linna, an eighteen year old au pair from Finland. I have been waiting for this book forever and was so shocked to see that another book in this series came out. Though the 11th in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone, as Coben’s character’s backstory is not relevant to Home; though readers who have read the preceding novels will enjoy the character development. When I say the gang is back, I do mean the entire game; Myron, Win, Esperanza, Big Cyndi and even Mickey and crew. I liked that they have all grown and in some ways moved on but the connection between them is still strong.

It was fascinating to see the world from his unusual perspective and to understand a little more of why he does what he does. This should be your first clue that things are slightly different now, because, when has Win ever asked for help? Sure enough, a teenage boy who bears a striking resemblance to Patrick appears to be a street hustler.

The other wears a studded dog collar and mesh shirt, proclaiming his current profession in the most obvious of uniforms. The plot had a few exaggerated, unlikely scenarios, not that I paid too close attention while I was under the spell of Myron and his best friend, Win. Parker que a las de el propio Coben, pero eso no es malo, si acaso, un merecido homenaje a un escritor que dejó una profunda huella en otros posteriores.
