Designed to minimize eyestrain during extended use, the DPS I Series is ideal for spectator sports, camping and other outdoor pursuits. I haven't had chance to view any of the planets yet, but I do understand from other reviews that the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter should be visible.

Just start off by, naturally, matching what you see on the printed page to whatever is clearly on the sky, by recognising the most conspicuous constellations first (which IMO, on early evening at the moment would be Ursa Minor, Cassiopeia and its "W" shape, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Corona Borealis, to name a few) along with essy-to-spot bright stars, such as Arcturus, in Bootes, Vega in Lyra and Altair in Aquila, Polaris. The case didn't have a belt strap on it, so I adapted the shoulder strap and sewed it on so it would have a belt thread through it. Its optics are made with aspherical eyepiece lenses to reduce edge distortion and astigmatism and anti-reflection coated optics to improve light transmission, contrast, color fidelity.

Coming from a photography background, yes there is slight chromatic abberation along high contrast edges in the background but you have to actively look for that. They are one of the finest pieces of soviet optics and are very sharp on axis with a huge sweet spot. Featuring durable high‑quality finish and extra wide field of view of 65° the DPS I Series let you discover the expansive nature around you with ease. The fully coated lens on the Olympus Trooper DPS I Binocular makes it durable and offers you UV protection. If you have tried excellent optics bins like nikon monarch, leupold golden ring or swift audobon, probably you may not like this olympus bin.

But, you can choose a few things to see, see one or two events happening when you are there, sample foods and met people in your travels. The Olympus Binoculars 10×50 are one of the most promising entry level binoculars that easily fit in your backpack. The wide 65 degrees apparent field of view contributes to a sharp, clear image, as well as the versatile applications for which these models can be used.Knasal: I have little star gazing experience through many IOS applications like skyguide, sky safari, stellarium, night sky with naked eye not with binoculars.

Slightly bigger than my Zeiss 10x40 BGAT (but not as elegant: looks like it was styled by a Klingon) it's rubber armoured and quite heavy (860g). Then, as already recommended, try to star-hop to nearby bright Messier objects - namely open and globular clusters around the Scorpius and Sagittarius region, for starters. I have a fairly large garden area with multiple bird feeders and already have a great (more expensive) pair of Pentax binoculars that I keep in the house for quickly grabbing and getting a closer look at the birds. These 10×50 wide angle binoculars are not only stylish but extremely easy for a beginner to use while exploring. The far corners lose some sharpness but since the image is so large my eyes never go anywhere near the edges so all I see is a perfectly sharp image. Very happy, and come to find out another friend of mine owns the same set and he is happy with it as well. Take the time and open "A" where you can find a list of Messier Objects described as Easy, Tougher and Challenge for 7x35, 7x50, and 10x50 Binoculars.

Teenagers may want to see things right away: if you are hand holding binoculars it is going to be a little difficult to hand them off to them so they can point them to the same spot. LARGE FOCUS DIAL - Also found on Olympus PRO binoculars, this large focus adjustment dial provides effortless operation. Practice with your binoculars and find the "Easily seen with naked eye" list first to get used to finding the stars on the SkyMap and pointing with your binoculars.ANTI-SLIP COATING - An anti-slip polymer finish suppresses light reflections, ideal for observing our feathered and furry friends. The wide-angled field of view of this Olympus 50mm binocular lets you keep track of the action no matter how fast paced it gets. It's cloudy so I won't be able to see any stars tonight, but I did test looking into a pocket torch on a black background, and it really wasn't bad. You cannot see every single thing in the country, learn every custom, go to every event, try every food, and meet every person.
