About this deal

Like the single-gear Bowden designs, the filament is driven on one side, while the other side is held by a freely rotating idler pulley.

Sprite Pro and CR Touch Sonic Pad to Ender 3v2 with Sprite Pro and CR Touch

While we have not tested this extruder ourselves, many users have reported cracking in the extruder housing, which causes the idler shaft to be free to move away from the filament. Newer 3D printers use an integrated Bowden coupler instead of a separate screw-in piece, which we have found to be more reliable and less susceptible to failure. The Ender 3 Neo series, released in 2022 as a revamp of past Ender 3 models, all include this extruder. Also one thing to note when chosseing the F401 chips the only options are 16bit (HID) or 32bit boot loaders. Note: Creality also produces the E-Fit dual gear extruder kit which integrates with the existing hot end.The Creality Sprite Pro Extruder was provided free of charge by Creality3DOfficialfor the purpose of this review.

Creality Sprite Pro Extruder Review: Full Upgrade Kit

We have extensively tested this extruder with our Ender 3 S1, and have been very happy with the consistent results we’re getting. It seems that the tiny radial part cooling paired with the airflow over the heatsink gives excellent results. Based on this and the feedback we have seen, we see this as a step back from the metal designs, and recommend replacing it with one of the metal extruders discussed previously. It is important to make sure the spring is providing sufficient tension for the single gear to grip the filament well. Please note that installing Klipper on the Creality Ender 3 S1 requires some experience with 3D printers and hardware.
