About this deal

The camp is split when it comes to freezing vodka, though it should certainly be chilled (0-4°C is optimal). While freezing vodka improves the viscosity and achieves a richer mouthfeel, you do risk muting the more nuanced aromas. Distillation is necessary after fermentation to purify the ethanol, thereby increasing its ABV and removing impurities like gluten and ingredients like yeast. If the process stops at fermentation, then the ethanol produced would only suffice to create alcoholic beverages like beer, wine, and similarly low ABV drinks. Why Is Distillation Necessary After Fermentation?

Distilled vodka refers to every kind of vodka in the market because it is impossible to produce vodka without distilling the ethanol. If the distilling is skipped, the alcohol produced after fermentation would commonly be classified as beer or, in the case of grape vodka, wine. Additionally, vodka brands follow different distilling procedures that allow them to make a distinct vodka. Next up is filtering, which gives vodka its clean mouthfeel. Although some craft distillers choose to skip this step altogether to impart a more unique flavour.Infusing vodka with fruits or herbs lengthens the creation process by around three weeks. These vodkas have much stronger flavor profiles than plain vodka and can be found on the market in different colors with varying aromas. It’s a similar process to what’s done when producing gin (as vodka and gin production start off the same way) and results in any number of different varieties. Flavored vodka

Normally, unflavored vodkas are bottled at 80 proof while unflavored vodkas are bottled at around 60 proof generally because sugar is less soluble in 40% ABV than in 30% ABV. Similarly, column stills typically have 4 to 5 connected columns, but there are variations to the traditional design that could have more columns. To make vodka, the potato or grain is heated to form a mash before being mixed with yeast to produce ethanol. This fermentation process can take anything from one day to two weeks before the liquid is purified to remove any odors or off-notes. Then, it’s distilled in column stills or pot stills to reach its desired purity.Unlike many vodkas on the market (we’re looking at you, Smirnoff), Absolut contains no added sugar. This, combined with its premium taste and determination to use only the highest quality ingredients, positions the brand as our best overall vodka in the world.

While Absolut offers plenty of flavor variations, its original, unflavored vodka should be a staple of any liquor cabinet. It’s one of the cleanest vodkas available, with a crisp, pure taste that’s somehow also full-bodied and complex. So I combined both final cuts, diluted to 10 percent ran again, nice and slow.... pulled some foreshots, and the a jar of heads, then collected rest straight into a carboy at a nice slow drip down to 30 percent ABV.... diluted again to 10 percent, slow dropped off a jar of heads.... collected into a carboy down to 20 percent. On the fifth distillation, diluted to 15 percent, slow dripped off Heads in very small batches 100-200 mls, and after about 800 mls there was no trace of heads, slow dripped all the way through into 1/2 gallon jars.... No, Stalinskaya is not inspired by Joseph Stalin. Actually, both names were inspired by stal, the Russian word for steel. The term denotes strength. The Romanian vodka is distilled from top grade wheat using a proprietary three step distillation process. According to the company, it is then “filtered through birch charcoal and silver ions for smoothness and exceptional clarity.” Some of the vodka brands that are distilled 7 times include Platinum 7X Vodka, Royal Elite Vodka, and Rain Seven Times Distilled American Vodka. In other words if the spent kettle charge is as clear as the resulting distillate then you got all the "dirt" that can be gotten. It’s distilled using a four-column still process and local, Polish water before being charcoal filtered and bottled. Everything from the delicious spirit inside to the classy, translucent bottle makes Belvedere live up to its name, which translates as “beautiful to see”. It is literally odourless, and almost tasteless. You cannot tell it apart from a good comercial vodka. Looking for the best vodka for a Martini or the best addition to a Bloody Mary? The marked for vodka is continually expanding, and there are numerous brands you can try such as Grey Goose, Smirnoff, and Absolut to name a few. You can also explore the interesting flavours offered by boutique vodkas and small distilleries which are created in small batches. A lot of these utilize experimental ingredients and methods.
