In this article, we'll explore the commonality of seeking a sexologist among couples, addressing misconceptions, benefits, and the evolving role of sexology in contemporary society. I also feel like it did stop us from seeing a large amount of character development, which may have been why I didn’t feel such a connection to them. I felt like these last two books were trying to turn the series into a thriller, when that's never what it has been. Well, this excellent series is finally brought to a close in an entertaining and quite gripping conclusion.

The stakes of this should have been a lot bigger, but the logic of how the characters responded to this situation ranged from passive to downright ridiculous. What’s more, the character of Libby also explores the way in which history is taught in regard to race, and the issues of not teaching Black British history in schools. This story skillfully and sensitively manages the emotional debate over the pro's and con's of babies and abortions, not always predictable, and very relatable.Hotjar sets this cookie to know whether a user is included in the data sampling defined by the site's daily session limit. Malorie, you made me cry more than once but you also made my heart swell when writing of hope and positive actions to shape a fairer equal future for everyone. Though quite different in matter compared to Noughts and Crosses, the main principle is still there and the writing is as good as ever.

News articles for the ‘Daily Shouter’ that are peppered throughout the story draw parallels to issues such as tokenism, the ‘war on drugs’, Black Lives Matter protests (in this book they’re Nought Lives Matter or NLM), Brexit, and the recent new Policing and Crimes Bill in the UK which criminalises protesting. It has more mysterious elements as they try and find out who killed a certain person (sorry for being so vague, I don’t want to ruin the book for you). The story flowed very smoothly and didn’t overload with an information dump or plot dot points either. None of these plots felt evenly developed nor did the characters’ reactions to them come across as genuine.

Marriage is seen as some sort of solution to all problems, and an end point of individual storylines. We start this book exactly where Crossfire left off, with tensions running high and politics at the forefront.

Perhaps this is reminiscent of racism within today’s society, more systemic and implicit but there nonetheless. Join our community to get personalised book suggestions, extracts straight to your inbox, 10% off RRPs, and to change children’s lives.

The first Nought Prime Minister, Toney Durbridge, is about to go on trial for the murder of notorious ganglord, Dan Jeavons. This became more apparent when none of the characters are effected or reflected on these news stories in the overall plot. There is a lot to really enjoy in this story and there is great energy to the writing, as well as some fine characterization' - Peter James, award-winning and no. Troy Ealing and Liberty Jackman - an amalgamation of second and third generation characters in this story. It also has some ‘then’ and ‘now’ sections towards the beginning, to give the reader some background information on the situation taking place. I can hardly believe it is now twenty years and five more books later - Blackman's final delve into her parallel world with the sixth book in the series 'Endgame'. I was actually surprised by the conclusion of that plot and believe this book may have been better if it explored that revelation more. The worldbuilding was decent again, and this book features the largest number of “scene-setting” newspaper articles that show the mirroring of our world to theirs in an intelligent way, which I always appreciate.
