About this deal

On June 14, 2008, Volume 1 was re-released in the UK as a non-HMV exclusive, though both the artwork and the extras remain the same as the original HMV exclusive release. [212] Volume 2 was released in the same way on March 3, 2009. [213] DVD name The Cat and the Claw: Part I", "The Cat and the Claw: Part II", "Heart of Ice", "See No Evil" [197] Ching, Albert (October 8, 2017). "NYCC: Batman: The Animated Series Blu-ray Collection Coming in 2018". cbr.com . Retrieved October 9, 2017. Solomon, Brian (May 2023). Superheroes!: The History of a Pop-Culture Phenomenon from Ant-Man to Zorro. Rowman & Littlefield. ISBN 9781493064526. Goslin, Austen (February 13, 2020). "Batman: The Animated Series creator will continue the show — in comics". Polygon . Retrieved February 13, 2020. Vowing to turn over a new leaf, the Riddler is hired to work for a toy company. But Batman suspects that the Riddler is still obsessed with outsmarting and defeating him. Batman encounters a new cat burglar calling herself Catwoman. Around the same time, as Bruce Wayne, he meets a woman named Selina Kyle, to whom he is instantly attracted without knowing her secret identity. When Catwoman discovers that a terrorist group known as The Red Claw has built a base in the mountain lion sanctuary she was trying to protect, she decides to take matters into her own hands. The Hub Network aired the series from September 6, 2011, to November 29, 2013. The channel aired a 10-episode marathon of the series on July 20, 2012, to coincide with the theatrical release of The Dark Knight Rises and even created an animated version of one of the film's trailers, featuring Kevin Conroy and Adrienne Barbeau re-dubbing Batman and Catwoman's dialogue from the trailer. [36] Reception [ edit ]

Three years after the second season of Batman: The Animated Series ended production, the show was moved from Fox to The WB, which was airing and producing Superman: The Animated Series. These shows were merged into an hour-long segment called The New Batman/Superman Adventures. The WB wanted more episodes of Batman, so 24 new episodes were produced featuring a format that focused more on Batman's supporting cast. The success of the Warner Archive Collection’s 2017 Blu-ray release of the sequel films Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993 – reviewed here) and Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (1989 - reviewed here) apparently convinced the studio that there was significant fan interest in a Blu-ray box set of the entire series. And so the studio has now released exactly that.

Grossberg, Josh (March 29, 2018). "Mark Hamill channeled the Invisible Man and Jay Leno as inspiration for The Joker". SYFY WIRE. Archived from the original on September 26, 2020 . Retrieved October 22, 2020. Still, the digital copies include none of the special features, as far as I can tell. That means The Heart of Batman, along with episode commentaries and featurettes, are disc-only. Given that most new releases include the special features with the digital copies, this is a letdown. Several more new villains from the Batman mythos are introduced this season, including Poison Ivy (voiced by Piera Coppola), a different version of Gearhead (voiced by Will Friedle), Maxie Zeus (voiced by Phil LaMarr), the Toymaker (voiced by Patton Oswalt), Prank (voiced by Michael Reisz), Temblor (voiced by Jim Cummings), and D.A.V.E. (voiced Jeff Bennett). Hugo Strange becomes a villain this season, having orchestrated the events of " A Fistful of Felt" and " Gotham's Ultimate Criminal Mastermind". The season finale concludes with his incarceration at Arkham Asylum. Note: Loosely based on "Man-Bat Over Vegas," initially presented in Detective Comics #429, by Frank Robbins, with several alterations including changes to keep the plot appropriate for the family-friendly rating of the television show. Batman investigates the appearance of a werewolf-like creature in Gotham, not realizing that the monster happens to be one of Bruce Wayne's associates — Anthony Romulus, ex-Olympic champion. Behind the scheme is twisted chemist Professor Milo.

Side guide

Shadow of the Bat: Part I" and "Shadow of the Bat: Part II" / "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?" and "Riddler's Reform" Inspired by a four-issue story arc in Batman (1977) #291–294, entitled "Where Were You on the Night Batman Was Killed?". In each of the four issues, one of Catwoman, Riddler, and The Joker all recount their claims to have killed Batman. However, the plot for "Almost Got 'Im" is quite different (six stories in the show and four completely different ones in the comic book), with only the Joker as an overlapping antagonist.
