Display Size : Measured diagonally, the screen size is 164.0mm (6.5") in the full rectangle and 160.9mm (6.3") with accounting for the rounded corners. Actual viewable area is less due to the rounded corners and the camera cutout. Still, the blurring effect is charming enough, and reasonable object recognition means it won't always be immediately obvious the shot was taken with a phone rather than a larger camera with a wide aperture lens. The Samsung Galaxy A51’s Portrait mode still tends to fall apart with complex subjects, as it will in most phones. The Samsung Galaxy A51's 5MP macro camera will not see you win a Wildlife Photographer of the Year award, but it is fun to play around with. You can get extremely close to your subject, and shoot objects the main camera won't even focus on. Its main issue, other than only passable image quality, is blurring. A little handshake movement will ruin your photos unless the light level is good.

Plan Benefits

Using our colorimeter, I found the Galaxy A51 covers 99% of the sRGB colour gamut in ‘Normal’ mode, with a total volume of 113%. Thanks to the screen’s AMOLED panel, contrast is effectively perfect and the screen is plenty bright, too. I measured a peak luminance of 478cd/m² with the auto-brightness setting engaged and a torch aimed directly at the ambient light sensor to simulate the brightest outdoor lighting. Samsung Galaxy A51 review: Performance and battery life Typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. Rated (minimum) capacity is 3,890 mAh. Actual battery life may vary depending on network environment, usage patterns and other factors. The Samsung Galaxy A51 performance with games that use the Vulkan graphics standard seems fairly poor. You have to run Ark: Survival Evolved at low graphics and reduced resolution to get it to a playable state, with greater visual sacrifices than a Snapdragon-powered phone with a GPU that should be similarly capable. You might have noticed that the A51’s Geekbench 4 benchmark results are roughly 15% weaker than those of last year’s model, the Galaxy A50, and the single-core test is 32% slower as well. Just to make sure this wasn’t a rogue anomaly, I ran the tests multiple times and got the same result each time. User Available Memory : User memory is less than the total memory due to storage of the operating system and software used to operate the device features. Actual user memory will vary depending on the operator and may change after software upgrades are performed.

While those crashes likely won’t be an issue for long, the general sluggishness may be. Camera performance issues are intermittent rather than constant, but we did notice them regularly while out shooting.br>**Requires access to Samsung Account and acceptance to customized service prior to using the usage pattern analysis based service. TheSamsung Galaxy A51 can shoot video at up to 4K resolution, 30 frames per second (fps). Why no 60fps? It is a limit of the Sony IMX582 sensor, as the processor can handle 4K encoding at up to 120fps.

br>****Bixby recognizes select languages and certain accents/dialects; availability of Bixby service, features and content providers may vary depending on country or language; data/Wi-Fi required to fully operate Bixby features. The image quality of the A51’s FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080) screen is good for the price. There are two display modes to choose from, but I found the ‘Normal’ setting to be the most colour accurate with an average Delta E of 1.82. Likewise, If you prefer your phone screens with colour vibrancy dialled up to the max, then you’ll feel right at home with the phone’s ‘Vivid’ setting. With most titles you get an experience fairly close to that of a more expensive phone, which is a sweet consolation after the general performance hitches. The Samsung Galaxy A51's screen also makes games look great. But there’s a lot of Snapdragon-powered competition at the price, and they seem to offer more consistent results. It's not hard to spot the filler: those two 5MP cameras. But this case is much less egregious than, for example, what Oppo has tried recently. The Oppo A9 2020 has a couple of intensely useless 2MP cameras. The Samsung Galaxy A51’s draws are similar to those of other mid-price Samsungs. Its OLED screen is colorful, contrast is ultra-high, and Samsung’s software looks good. Its longevity is reasonable, if nothing more. We haven’t regularly had to recharge the Samsung Galaxy A51 in the afternoon just to make sure it makes it to lights-out, but we are usually left with little charge by the late evening.
