Description

Lanoguard has a set of features and technical specifications which really set it apart. Once you understand these technical features you can really start to work out all kinds of uses for Lanoguard grease and sprays across all kinds of corrosion protection, waterproofing, electrical and lubrication applications. These days, I nearly always use nitrile "mechanics" gloves when working on cars. Orange colour with diamond pattern grips on palms and fingers. Almost identical to the gloves Edd China invariably uses.)

Our research identified products from the USA and also Australia and New Zealand. However, these products all combined the lanolin with a base of naphtha which is a refined petroleum product. Given that the lanolin is naturally occurring, we wanted the final product to be 100% sustainable and from renewable resources and so existing products did not meet our requirement.

If heating LanoShield please be aware that it can get very hot so precautions should be taken. Though the product is non-hazardous it can be hard to get off so we recommend using protective gloves I sprayed as much as I could underneath, including all metal, plastics and rubbers, avoiding the tyres and discs / pads.

Ashton Marine Services are taking LanoShield the long lasting eco-friendly anti-corrosion ant-seize grease and sprays to Boatlife at the NEC 16th-19th of Feb. It's 12 years old, and as expected, it already had areas of surface rust in places so I started by jet washing the whole underneath as best I could at our local industrial pressure washer on a day when the roads were dry. The stand will also have Epropulsion the market leaders in Electric inboard and outboard solutions including the new I series inboards. Well, being a sheep farmer with a life long history of Land Rovers I have used Waxoyl, Dinitrol, Bilt Hamber and Lanolin based stuff, all have their pro's and con's. We have three product lines, Lanoguard Moto, Lanoguard Marine and Lanoguard Outdoor. At their core they all have key protective properties and prevent;Product covers extremely well and dries to a matt finish. I would definitely recommend that the product is warmed first as it aids atomisation, especially with using the lance. Unlike a lot of other lanolin products we wanted ours to have no petroleum base added (works as a softener) so we use a widely grown seed oil. This means that LanoShield uses 100% renewable resources. I have been considering using Lanoguard as it doesn't cover up any existing rust as conventional underseal does and it doesn't compromise the original finish applied by Volvo. Self-Healing Properties: Lanolin-based greases have self-healing properties, which means that if the protective layer gets scratched or damaged, the grease can flow and fill in the gaps, resealing the surface and maintaining its protective function. This helps to ensure continuous protection against rust, even if there are minor abrasions or scratches on the metal surface.

We first came across lanolin products for rust and corrosion protection when we were researching new nano coatings at some of the world’s leading marine trade shows to protect the fittings on the boat trailers that we sell. In June 2020 I discovered alot of surface rust on the subframes of the car. Using other brands I would underseal over the top of hammerite I hoped it would preserve the car. I found the lasted 3 to 9 months just meaning I needed completely do the car again. Environmentally Friendly: Lanolin is a natural and biodegradable substance, making lanolin-based greases environmentally friendly compared to some synthetic alternatives. They do not contain harmful chemicals or solvents that can be detrimental to the environment or pose health risks during application or disposal.Only down side so far is it still faintly smells of sheep, but I'm told that does diminish over time. I love how easy it was and how the spray liquid got into all the bits I wanted. Later drying to a waxy/dry oil type finish. This is marine standard and has the highest percentage of Lanolin (the ingredient that actually stops the corrosion) we can provide and make it sprayable. This does mean it works better if stored at plus 10 degrees and it does need to be shaken before you use it. Dont waste your time with this stuff your just as well spraying any other type of wax/oil on your car as apart from easy application nothing else actually works. I did have a little trouble getting the sprayer to work, but found if I stood the container of Lanoguard in a bowl of warm water it made the Lanoguard runny enough to be pulled up by the spray pump. There is very little prep required, just bush off any loose dirt and start spraying. You can wipe any excess down with a cloth.
