It occupies a real niche between the less robust Islay malts and Talisker with the oiliness and body of Springbank or Longrow. Our boxes are made of 100% recyclable cardboard and our protective honeycomb paper wrap keeps your package safe and significantly reduces our need for plastic. Palate: Tantalisingly sweet, medicinal flavours infused with enticing sparks of spicy pepper and dried fruit with rich peaty smoke and a velvety vanilla and malty creaminess. When it reopened in 1878, the Ledaig deeds and ownership were passed from pillar to post before closing for a second time in 1930, as there was a drop in the demand for whisky due to prohibition in the United States. The 10 has plenty of fans and scored highly in the online whisky realm, becoming Ralfy’s whisky of the year 2022.

It also makes superbly smoky single malt under the name of Ledaig (that name isn't simply a coincidence, by the way - Ledaig was one of the distillery's previous names! There’s still so much I have yet to try and I get a bit overwhelmed at what my next whisky purchase will be.I dont want to say I am disappointed with this whisky, but it has now definitely less smoke and it is coloured. Expect notes of caramel, fruit and rose petal, balanced with hints of oak, leather and an unusually dry and nutty finish. Do I go with super peat and grab an Islay malt, super sweet with a bourbon, or go mellow with a simple Jameson?

Expect rich notes of walnuts, cherries and creamy toffee from this this 18 Year Old cask strength bottling. Prior to Burn Stewart’s involvement, the distillery had gone through periods of producing both peated and unpeated whiskies. Unlike its unpeated Tobermory counterpart, Ledaig is known for its robust and smoky character, imbued with the rich, briny flavors of the island. Despite a colourful history marked by closures, financial troubles and even a change of name, today Tobermory is a thriving, expressive and unique distillery, true to its idyllic location on the Hebridean island of Mull. Our bottles come in two sizes: 700ml, which is our standard for our main releases; and for some of our expressions, 100ml minis.

I had to nose to see how the liquid presence remained and there was lemon meringue pie, a touch of cold honey glazed ham with burnt twigs. The first release in our new Sinclair Series, this non aged statement Ledaig Rioja Finish is ruby red in colour and perfectly balances peat smoke with sweet, fruity Rioja. After Sinclair's first application was rejected, he persevered and a year later the distillery was established. This new release is part of the 'Sinclair Series' with the initial maturation in ex-Bourbon barrels, following further time spent in Spanish ex-Rioja wine barrels.Love this dram, smoke peat, salt, leather, heather and coastal aromas, in this little storm in a glass. The depth of character and complexity is testament to a well crafted whisky, evident of only the finest ingredients and barrels and also no added colouring and non chilled filtered. Finish: A wondrous union of sublimely spicy white pepper, the vibrant sweetness of liquorice and a kick of cloves with a exquisite lingering saltiness.
