One warning with playing a co-operative game. Be sure everyone you invite to play knows that it’s a co-operative game, especially adults you invite to play. Some people are very adamant about having a player versus player style of game play. There’s definitely a place for that. However, if you’re desire is to enjoy the co-operative game style, you’ll want to be sure that everyone is willing to play the game in that way. All Ghost figures removed from the board are returned to the supply and may be used again during gameplay. Seeing that Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters had won an award made me realise it must be good. I like Kinder Eggs so Kinderspiel has the word Kinder in it, must be good I thought! To fight a ghost, the player must roll the fighting dice. Rolling a ghost icon means defeat of one ghost, and it is removed from the house.

In the hallway, players may move through spaces occupied by other TREASURE HUNTER MOVERS , but they may NOT stop in a space that is already occupied . If a player doesn't roll enough to move past another mover, they must stop in the first empty space behind the other mover. In Ghost Fightin' Treasure Hunters, a.k.a. Geister, Geister, Schatzsuchmeister!, four intrepid treasure hunters are on a quest, searching for precious hidden jewels, but the phantoms in this house do not give up their bounty easily. The ghost cards reveal which room the new ghost must be placed in. Third, the player moves their personal playing piece. If they end their movement in a space with a ghost, they fight that ghost by rolling a fight die. If they roll the matching symbol, they remove the ghost from the game board. If all 6 Haunting Markers are on the board before the players can escape with all the Treasure Jewels , the players lose! It still is. No one enjoys losing. Add to that being the youngest and competing with an older sibling, and games held little attraction. So, where was our turning point? Co-operative games. We’ve discovered several co-operative games that helped our family all play by the same set of rules.

Players work as a team to escape from the house with all 8 Treasure Jewels before 6 of the rooms become haunted. Win or lose, you do it together! haunting figure is removed from the board. The game ends with either a win or a loss for the collective group of players. There is a lot of fun to be had but the joy for me spending time with the children and hearing their plans, hearing their shrieks of excitement as things go right, or wrong. On their turn, a player may choose to remain on the space they currently occupy (including outside the house) and not move their TREASURE HUNTER MOVER, but they still have to roll the MOVEMENT DIE and draw a card, if necessary.

Note: If you roll a Haunting or a Blank, take no actions and there is no penalty. If at least 1 other player is in the room with you, the player whose turn it is may roll 2 Battle Dice. Each Ghost Icon on the Battle Dice removes 1 Ghost Figure from the room. If there are more than 2 players in "ICON the room, you still only roll 2 battle dice. It has different ways to play depending on the age of the players. My 5 kids now range from 24-12 and we have really enjoyed it. When we played on the hardest level it took us months to win the game. The kids would ask for this game on the nights we had free from activities. ( they actually wanted to spend time together , made my momma heart happy for sure ) The easiest set of rules would be just right for younger children. The cooperative play makes for exciting and unified game strategies with less trash talking ( well at each other anyway). The art work is wonderfully whimsical and beautifully rendered. The pieces are well thought out and made . It only goes up to 4 game players but when we have 5 players we have that extra one play the part of the ghosts. Keep it there until you succeed in dropping it off (see #5). Your mover may only carry one Treasure Jewel at a time. Also, you may fight Ghosts and Hauntings while carrying a jewel. Digital Cameras, camera lenses, Headsets, Speakers, Projectors, Home Entertainment (new and certified refurbished) 15 Days Returnable

B - If there is a letter on the card, the player must place a Ghost Figure in the room with the matching letter. If you are carrying a Treasure Jewel while in a Haunted room, you CANNOT move from the Haunted room until you succeed in "UN-Haunting" it. Ghost fighting treasure hunters is a family favourite. My children love it and despite the premise and simplicity of play, I really like it too.
