Description

There are around 16 species of the Saki monkeys and the white-faced saki (above) is one of the most popular and well-known. That are 14 Spider monkey species and subspecies. Several of the species are critically endangered. Just like a long list of other animals from the rainforests are endangered.

While it’s true that they’re intelligent, capuchin monkeys are not capable of being potty trained. As a result, they’ll often need diapers for the entirety of their life if kept as a pet. Also, while their mischievousness can lead to light-hearted fun, they’re also known for being territorial and aggressive as adults. They require a lot of space for exercise and the company of other capuchins.Monkeys are fascinating creatures. If you own one or have interacted with one in your life, you must be aware of their interesting, fun, and entertaining traits. Night monkeys, also popularly called “Owl monkeys,” are around 25 inches tall and categorized into 2 species.

These little beings usually survive on gum, saps, fruits, flowers, and tiny insects and animals. They’re also quite compatible to be kept as pets both due to their temperament and size. The tamarins will live up to 18 years and they are between 5 and 12” tall (13 to 30 cm). Red-handed Tamarin The Guenons are also very high maintenance as pets. Like the other monkeys, they tend to live around 25 years in captivity so you need to be ready to make a lifelong commitment here. They live in West Africa where they will eat leaves, fruit, and other vegetation. They will also eventually eat smaller animals and insects. They are long and slim creatures with long arms and legs. They live in groups, just like many of the other monkeys, and they will typically only have one male in the group. It has been found that Tarsiers do not do well in captivity, often developing mental issues that can result in suicide. They become incredibly stressed by cages that are too small, certain lights, sounds, or even proximity to humans or human touch. They become so upset they will bash their heads on any hard surface of their enclosure.
