THE ECHO OF OLD BOOKS has the imaginative, descriptive, pull-you-in writing style Ms. Davis excels at.

I only recently found author Barbara Davis a few years ago when I read her last novel, The Keeper Of Happy Endings. “Keeper” was the first Barbara Davis book I read, and that one was a keeper for me too!I always love a story with a bookish angle, so of course I was intrigued as soon as I saw The Echo Of Old Books first mentioned. Then I read the blurb, and I knew I HAD to add it to my shelves. Between the main character being able to feel echoes of the previous owners when touching books, the bound volumes and the mystery around the identity of their authors, the premise has so much potential, and I’ve been looking forward to read it. And it turned out to be an excellent read! She refers to herself as a Yankee, turned Southerner, turned Yankee! When she’s not writing she’s an avid reader, foodie, and lover of music, a football fan, and a devoted Florida Gator.

And their own searing, scarring pasts. The more we learn about both couples, the more we hope for HEAs all around – no matter how impossible that might seem. We become invested in both stories every bit as much as Ashlyn does Belle’s. I loved this book!!! ❤️ I was sold at the cover and title alone! A book about books? With an actual book within the book? Sign me up!! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ Two time lines? Love it!! Ashlyn had dinner with Ethan. He relayed that he reached out to Marian’s son, Zachary. Before she left, Ethan confessed his feelings for her. This book was actually three books in one because you get to read the books from the no-named authors as well as Ashlyn's mystery. It was an intriguing read and it kept me interested to find out what had happened between the two authors. I don't think I've ever read anything like this before. Ashlyn was also an interesting character with her gift and her history. I also like Ethan, the author Ashlyn met while trying to solve her mystery. At Marian’s house, Hemi admits he still loves her. They kiss, but Marian tells him about Zachary. Hemi leaves, heartbroken.
