It's normal for details to go away at higher ISOs in all digital cameras. Our eyes work the same way in low light. Dripping Hot Springs, Bridgeport, California, 7:25 A.M., 15 October 2023. Canon EOS R6II, RF 24-240mm IS USM at 100mm, f/5.6 handheld at 1/25 at Auto ISO 100, -0.7 stops exposure compensation ( LV 9.6), Skylum Luminar Neo. More tech details. bigger or fit-to-screen. By default, there is no always-responsive instant manual-focus override as we take for granted in our DSLRs. The fourth place is usually an underscore (KEN_1234.JPG), or you can have the fourth place be a S, M or L corresponding to the image size (IMGL1234.JPG).

Try this new Fv ("Function Value") exposure mode right between the AUTO and P settings on the top MODE dial. I love it!

Help Me Help You

In manual focus you have options of 5× or 10× magnifiers. I assign this to my SET button at MENU > CUSTOM3> Customize buttons > SET > Magnify. Now just tap SET and it toggles among 1×, 5× and 10×.

Select the in-finder focus-distance scale at MENU > CAMERA7> Shooting info. disp. > Focus distance disp.Neither Nikon nor Sony can do this at all, but Canons can show you live RGB histograms in Live View. It seems minor unless you shoot every day as I do, and I love that the cards face the correct way with the label towards me. If you want a longer lens, Canon's RF 100-400mm IS USM is excellent as well as ultralight and inexpensive. The RF 100-500mm L IS USM is superb, but expensive and heavy. The EF 100-400mm L II IS USM is equally superb and ultrasharp and less expensive than the RF 100-500mm, and tougher and heavier. The R6 II has options to correct for falloff (Peripheral Illumination Correction), Distortion and a Digital Lens Optimizer which corrects for a suite of other aberrations.

or otherwise the focus ring is always ignored in AF. Canon should have it set this way by default, but they didn't. No big deal now that I figured it out. With a stabilized lens, there is no way to turn the in-camera and in-lens stabilizers ON or OFF separately. It's either both or none. Easy. MENU > CAMERA7 > Shooting info. disp. > Histogram disp. > Display size > your choice of Large or Small. I prefer small; it shows me what I need and covers less of the image. Canon's EOS-R system's menu system and in-hand-feel and overall ergonomics are way superior to anything from Fuji, Sony or Nikon. Expect over 1,000 frames with JPG and HEIF, and about 100 RAW with a reasonably fast card, less with a slow card.It only charges from USB-C sources with a USB-C to USB-C cable; it won't charge from a USB-A source, even if you have a USB-A to USB-C cable. Ideally I'd prefer that all cameras simply provide a complete range of manual shutter speeds out to 18 hours or so rather than forcing us to piddle in menus, but as of 2023 Bulb timers are state of the art. Robert Niessner wrote:I don't think so Rob. The LP-E6 had been available for many, many years after LP-E6N was introduced. Shutter closes with power-off to keep dust off sensor when changing lenses. Even better, a menu option(MENU > WRENCH4> Shutter at shutdown) lets you choose if the shutter stays open or closes when turned off.
