Description

By helping parents understand their child's sleep science and common tendencies in the first three years, Lucy shows parents how to introduce and maintain a gentle approach tha She is the former European Director of the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants and a member of the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants. Giraffe88 it's about completely reducing your input so baby falls asleep by then self so it doesn't allow cuddling/rocking baby to sleep as the theory is; when they wake, they'll still need you to do this. Her sleep was broken due to discomfort, naps were no longer than 20 minutes, we'd long days of her screaming in pain and puking, she latched very poorly due to pain and I ended up with a very painful breast abscess. If you want to find the pieces relevant to the age of your child - daytime routine, nighttime routine etc, it is so challenging!

We are almost 2 weeks into it now and she still screams and cries for atleast 20 mins (but often 45+ mins) when we put her down. Hi, I just wanted to let you know that since following your book, my 6 and a half month old now self settles to sleep with no fuss when we place her in her cot for the night. I've been roughly following the nap schedule and that's really helping, although her morning nap is always her longest nap. She is now the principle of Sleep Matters-Help Your Child Sleep, where she has many years’ experience and a proven track record in helping babies and children learn to sleep more soundly.Honestly it is so refreshing to read a book that is non-judgemental and encourages parents to do what they feel is right. We've managed to get down to 2 night feeds which is soooo much better than the every 2 hours she was feeding before. There's lots of bits I refer back to every now and again to check and in the end chapter she says one of the main reasons it doesn't work is when people do a "pick and choose" of the different aspects of it. Publishing on 31 August, this is the fifth book in author-illustrator Peter Donnelly’s bestselling and award-winning series . And we learned that if ever in doubt, take her up in the early side, I never regretted going too early and having a longer routine, than too late = loads of tears.

Before I started I was up a minimum of 10 times a night with at least two bottles along with multiple times on my boob. I have followed all the routines / schedules you suggested in the books and always refer back to the books as moves through the different age's groups. I wasn’t willing to try any kind of cry it out technique so this stay and support method was perfect for me. I’m back at work and Im finding it hard being up like 6/7 times a night to settle him back and then being up at 4/5am for the day, I’m kind of just at my wits end at this stage, anyone actually paid and used Lucy Wolfe and how did they find it.Lots of good ideas in this book to establish a bedtime routine and to have an idea of how much sleep/how many naps/how many feeds your baby needs depending on her age. I was (and still am kind of) against sleep training for me personally but I also know that I'll be a better mum with more sleep! She is the head of Sleep Matters Help Your Child Sleep, where she has many years’ experience and a proven track record in helping babies and children learn to sleep more soundly. In particular, her tables detailing timings didn't seem to make sense or follow the timings she was suggesting so I really couldn't follow them.

We've decided this is the way forward for us and have decided to use a gentler approach after reading a lot so I'm not looking for opinions on sleep training as I've read them all before. Due to one thing or another, it took us 3 months to get to ‘put down and go’, and things have vastly improved since we started leaving the room about 3 weeks ago. I’m now on night three using the techniques and she’s falling asleep on her own, in her crib, in 10 minutes and sleeps well during naps and night time only waking for feeds twice per night.

We started by rocking until sleepy and putting down, he used to really cry when we did this and we'd have to rock him again but now he just grizzles and then goes to sleep! She is the head of Sleep Matters, where she has many years' experience and a proven track record in helping babies and children learn to sleep more soundly. He still will mess about in his cot every so often but I remind myself that I dont just fall asleep as soon as I lie down, i mess abouttoo getting comfy etc.

She is based in Cork, Ireland and works full time assisting families with children from 6 months to 6 years of age to establish positive sleeping practices, but without using a cry intensive or cry it out approach. She sleeps from 7pm until 7am with one night wake at around 4:30-5am, but after a quick feed again I place her down in the crib drowsy and she falls back to sleep herself.

He normally ALWAYS wakes up 35 minutes after bedtime and needs resettling so this is some kind of miracle! I like that about her method, and watching her instagram videos (they are useful), that she really encourages you to honour what you feel is right.
