Due to the variability of transportation, Package Services and USPS packages may take up to two to five weeks to reach Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and any U. Languidly paced sequences continue in Tarantino's post- Basterds work, though not always (nor often enough) with the ticking time bomb effect needed to play effectively. One walks into Inglourious Basterds expecting anachronism, but one doesn’t anticipate Tarantino’s frank confession that cinema, like killing Nazis for the Basterds, is a way to live out his male wish-fulfillment fantasies. Maybe I had become a Tarantino skeptic, especially after the self-indulgent and boring Death Proof, so I strangely skipped Inglourious Basterds during its theatrical run. No immersive listening track) and legacy supplements as found on the previous high-definition release.

Nothing wrong with the movie, but when I'm paying a premium for a 13 year old film I at least expect to receive the correct product for my region. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on Blu-ray Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009), starring Brad Pitt, Mélanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Eli Roth, and Michael Fassbender. It has all his essentials; the witty non-stop banter, off the wall violence and real thought behind every frame. The film is still great, I still think the image is an improvement, and the audio mix is still impressive, so I'm keeping the overall Highly Recommended rating in place. Donowitz carve a swastika into the forehead of a cooperative German soldier (the actual still from the movie can be seen here). To be honest and straight at the outset, I actually really didn’t like Inglourious Basterds the first time I saw it.

They really provide nice contrast to add pop to all the rooms, fabrics and color on display while crafting a nice sharp image.

Quentin Tarantino’s film looks better than ever on Universal’s 4K disc, though the lack of a new 4K transfer from the negative leaves open the possibility of a superior future release. Now that Universal Studios is giving Inglourious Basterds a promotion to 4K, it’s a good reason to revisit it!

The reality is that the upscale/native battle is of little consequence in the real world, with so many spectacular reference upscales out there, and, whilstInglourious Basterds was shot on 35mm film and finished on a 2K Digital Intermediate for its presentation on Ultra HD Blu-ray. Those yellow/amber tones of the French cafe, the bold letters of the theater marquee - everything really pops nicely.

Part of what I loved so much about the opening was just how beautifully shot it was; those balances between light and dark with the golden yellows and browns of autumn. There were instances where bright elements (such as the sun splashed farmland in the opening or the inferno during the finale) looked appreciably vibrant but, none really stood out. Universal brings Inglourious Basterds to ultra-high-def from the same 2K digital intermediate that was used for the original Blu-ray. However, I can see folks hoping for a more aggressive object-based audio mix and/or a new selection of bonus features being a bit deflated with this release. The film also brought Christoph Waltz, who had mostly worked for many years in German film and TV, to the attention of US audiences. The extras are also recycled from the Blu-ray release, including extended and alternate versions of certain scenes, a collection of trailers, and perhaps most interesting, a 30-minute roundtable discussion with Tarantino, Pitt and film critic Elvis Mitchell. Three featurettes are dedicated to The Inglorious Bastards from 1978, including The Original Inglorious Basterds, A Conversation with Rod Taylor, and Rod Taylor on Victoria Bitter, the latter more of a fun outtake of sorts. dba Freestar (“Freestar”) for the purposes of placing certain advertising on the site, and Freestar will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes.
