You will not get a cleaning station, but as mentioned previously, Panasonic shavers are very easy to clean manually. The Andis ProFoil Lithium-Ion shaver also comes with a strong - yet quiet - rotary motor that allows for smooth, hassle-free shaves. Because it can get really close to the skin and it was actually designed for skin fades and beard lines, the Andis ProFoil can be an excellent head shaver.

The RPG is powered by a sturdy Lithium-Ion battery capable of yielding up to 90 minutes of runtime. The ProFoil (TS-1) has a very simple shaving system, comprised of two micro-foils arranged in a staggered fashion. If that is the case and you still want a foil razor, I think investing in a more advanced Braun shaver would be the right decision (Series 8 or 9 depending on the budget). It rids that classic overhead hold and numerous blade design for something a little more familiar to guys who consider themselves regulars at their barbers. It’s very much like your best beard trimmer in terms of size and grip but a little more on the boxier side. In addition, the device is extremelylightweight. When the blades become dull and the foils start to wear the performance of the shaver will suffer. When should you replace the blades and foils of an electric shaver? This seems to be generally accepted among men that use electric shavers and it also reflects my personal stance on this matter. Thank you for your comment. I’ve seen a few videos on this topic, but it’s not a viable solution in my opinion. It might work a bit better with rotary razors, but again it can’t solve the problem and you’ll still need to eventually replace the parts. And that’s because the dulling of the blades is just one part of the problem and even if you somehow manage to sharpen them, there’s still another issue. The friction between the blades and the foils will scrape off tiny bits of metal from them and as you continue to use your shaver the gap between the foils/combs and the blades will just get larger and larger, the metal will warp and the friction will generate more heat. This will have a negative impact on the closeness of the shave and the razor will start to pull the hairs and cause discomfort. At least in my particular case — coarse facial hair and sensitive skin — I almost always get better results in terms of closeness when using foil shavers.

So the takeaway is that you should replace them when the performance of your ProFoil drops significantly and it’s not able to provide a decent level of comfort and closeness. Wrapup—Who should buy the Andis ProFoil? This very straightforward operation also makes foil shavers an excellent choice for beginners. A wider selection of brands and models. It’s usually very difficult if not impossible for an electric razor to shave very close and remain comfortable at the same time. Finally, you should take that 6-month timeframe just as a reference. In reality, things could be quite different. It features staggered shaver head blades that give smooth and ultra-close cuts; to leave you with a nice, clean shave. You won’t have to worry about rashes and shaving bumps thanks to this shaver’s titanium, hypoallergenic foil. In terms of material, you need something stronger and durable. The last thing you want is your foils to break/tear after a few shaves. The friction will generate heat and will induce stress to the metal, causing it to warp and deform. I’ve seen blades that have eaten through the foils. You can imagine how dangerous this is and how it can easily cause serious injuries. Remington MS2-390 foil wear. Don’t let it get to this stage. In this video a man working in a shop talks about his tools, including the Wahl, Andis and the BabYlissPro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qx0o6-auG4s

The same goes for the cutters of a rotary shaver that rotate inside a metal guard/comb. Philips Norelco comb & blade pair The 70s (or 70b) shaving heads are indeed the correct parts for your father’s Series 7. From the description, it’s probably an older iteration of the 790cc, one of the very best in my opinion. There’s absolutely no performance difference between the 70s and the 70b shaving heads, so it’s not worth paying more for either of them. However, if the cost is similar to an Arc 5 ES-LV65-S, I recommend going for the latter in this case.

As my hair began to disappear, I do have to say that my head felt incrediblysmooth. Like, baby smooth. Even with the Skull Shaver, I don’t think my head felt as smooth as it did post-shave. If you have hair that grows in different directions, you’ll have to adjust the direction of your stroke more often and always approach the hair against the grain. Comfort I was looking this topic up bc a few mts ago my boyfriend’s shaver stopped working and he’s since just been helping himself to sharing mine. that wouldn’t be so bad if he actually bothered to clean it but that’s not the case & it’s gotten a lot more use than usual since his facial hair needs daily maintenance. Are the replacement blades poor quality now? Or maybe I’m buying wrong ones? Last ones are 70-s (I didn’t know ‘s’ meant silver & he said they fit/work for few months. He needs new & I considered getting 70-b to see if different quality but if not sure if worth price increase. It is very clear that they are sharing the very same design. Some people in the comment section under the second video seems to believe that it was an unfair comparison and that the Adis was “old”, used etc. But there indeed is a real difference between them as one can hear on the noise as well, as you noted in your review Ovidiu, the Andis does have a 9000 stroke per minute motor, while the BabYlissPro, based on my research is said to have an 11 000 stroke per minute motor. So that should make some difference. One con for the BabYliss is that it got a NiMH-battery, while the Andis got a Lithum-ion one. But the BabYliss still provides up to 180 minutes of run time. Very good.
