Description

Millions of people are waking up to the reality of our industrial food system and are thirsty for an alternative. Registered address: Unit 31, Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, LE5 3EF, United kingdom. Huw Richards has been growing organic food in raised beds for the last 17 years and recently launched Abundance Academy, providing online courses on improving garden productivity. Learn about the space you need and how to prepare it, how to make your own compost, how to get hold of your first set of seeds, and then strategies to multiply the seeds you have.

I am excited to transfer my seeds from indoors to outdoors – if the snow, frost and cold ever go away. Grow your own food in your home garden, acreage or container, and look forward to a bountiful harvest year-round. This book was worth reading simply for the fact that I now understand how important compost is if you want to grow your own food cheaply. There's information on procuring pallets and making raised beds out of the pallets, but nothing about how finding your USDA zone for growing and specific plants that do well in each zone. He gives a lot of good tips on how to source materials for your garden or even using someone else's yard/garden.

Even though I'm a semi-experienced gardener I still like to read any new gardening books because you can ALWAYS learn more and will never know everything there is to know about gardening. Our Non-Fiction Range includes: Academic, Photography, Audio books, Business, Cook Books, Craft Books, Health and Fitness Books, Mind, Body, Spirit (Tarot). A copy of Grow Food for Free The Sustainable, Zero-Cost, Low-Effort Way to a Bountiful Harvest was provided by DK for an honest review. What I like most about this book is that it pushes back on the recent depiction of edible gardening as something that is necessarily expensive, consumption-driven.

There are lots of pictures in the book with step-by-step instructions on building ground beds and layers in a compost bin. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. I am not convinced, however, that I would be successful growing food I can eat at every meal 365 days a year in our climate without a greenhouse.Information about annual and perennial plants includes how to start, grow and harvest everything from tomatoes, leaf crops, berries and root vegetables.
