The gallery above shows what you'll need for each idea, but in general, the following supplies are all handy for crafting your Easter masterpieces: ER 35: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 21 and 22 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn. You will now be working rows perpendicular to the bonnet. This will create the ribbed edging. These rows will be referred to as Edging Rows (ER). In the following instruction I will be referencing a sl st to attach to Row 11. This refers to Row 11 of the bonnet.

Take the last tie that you crocheted and flip it over to that lies smoothly against the brim rows. Use a yarn needle and your yarn end to stitch the last stitch to the top of the brim rows and then weave in your end. Weave in the end at the center of the crown rows. Puttind down plenty of newspaper or plastic sheeting before you start will make clean-up easier. A cheap tarpaulin or table cloth can be a great option. It's surprising how far paint can go when kids are involved, so be sure to protect a wide area of floor. Keep kitchen roll or baby wipes close at hand for any emergency clear-ups. To place your ears, start by folding the bonnet so that it lays flat. We will place the ears into the very center of the side rows and so many inches below the fold on the bonnet. (See the photo below). How far down you sew the ears will depend on the size of bonnet you are making. This time of year was always my busiest time of year in my etsy shop. Why? Bunny Bonnets. I sold a couple thousand bunny bonnets over the decade my etsy shop was open. By April I LOATHED bunnies. I’m not going to lie, I’m so happy I don’t have to spend 14 hours a day making the same thing over and over and over again this spring. But I may make a bunny bonnet just for my own baby because next year she’ll probably be too big for one. *wipes tear* Cut 6 pieces of yarn 30ins long. Use 3 pieces per side. Using a crochet hook, fold 3 piece in half and pull from the center a loop though the corner of the bonnet. Pull the ends through that loop to fasten. Braid and tie off.

Finishing Row Continued: Rotate your work so that you can work down the other side of the previous rows. Work 1 SC into the side of each row. Fasten off leaving a 10 inch yarn end for sewing. Note: We are continuing on from part 2, becuase row count will vary based on the size you are making, we are starting the row count over. All sizes will work the same number of brim rows. ER 43: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 26 and 27 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn. Last Row: CH 31, SC in second CH from hook. SC in next 29 CHs. (A total of 30 SC), rotate your work so you can work into the side of the rows from Part 2 and 3. Work 2 SC into the side of each brim row. Work 1 SC into the side of each side row. You only need some card, pom poms, coloured tissue paper, glue and scissors to create most of these DIY Easter hats, which come with easy-to-follow instructions.
