I thought the guy was interesting, and wanted to hear the stories about Freddie Mercury and other famous rock stars I listened to growing up. Being fellow countrywomen (and in bikinis) meant we’d gotten Tony’s attention and we proceeded to chat about life in Australia, what brought us to Ibiza, what had brought him to Ibiza and so on and so forth. This time last year, the world lost a legend when Pikes founder Tony Pike passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 24, 2019. One of the questions we’ve often been asked over the past year was whatever happened to Tony’s room at Pikes? I could not happen to think of Atlas Shugg a little bit when you think of Pike and the pride of his work he has in the hotel and the success which came from it.

The books enjoyable and not a taxing read - you get the sense that some things are glossed over with not enough detail for me and I think I was hoping for a more robust dissection of Tony Pikes character and what made him tick rather than a book of anecdotes but none the less, it was an entertaining read and I would recommend for anyone with an interest in celebrity culture and hedonism. For obvious reasons living at Pikes wasn’t really an option so ultimately I found my own place with rickety tiled floors, wood beam ceilings, quaint little nooks and corners. I've had a career of 30 years behind the decks with so much amazing music through the decades, this playlist is a good representation of tracks that have been favourites of mine and still make there way into certain sets depending on the event and vibe.
