And, just like the POP 2, the MINI can be used both in handheld mode and tripod mode with a turntable, depending on the given use case. The resulting 3D models can also still be exported to all major engineering and design software for a convenient cross-platform workflow. Revopoint POP 2 vs MINI For the most detailed results, however, it is best to not do this immediately. Instead, choose the manually fusing option later. This will take more resources from your computer, but the results are worth it.

It is important to point out that this number is the single-frame precision of the 3D scanner. This number is measured in ideal conditions in a lab and isn’t representative of real-world use. For example, we find ourselves spending much more time manually fixing incorrectly stitched scans in Revo Scan than we do in EXScan (the software for Einscan scanners). Your experience with nearly any 3D scanner depends on the object being scanned and the preparation you put into the process. The included accessories are also smaller than those of Revopoint’s other 3D scanners. The included statue is tiny, and the calibration board is reduced in size as well. The MINI also offers a smaller scanning area and reduced working distance, as it is designed for more professional applications where higher accuracy and resolution are required. As such, it offers a single-frame accuracy (lab-measured) of up to 0.05 mm, whereas the POP offers one of 0.1 mm.The easiest way to scan objects like these is with the turntable. It keeps the object in place while you capture it from different angles. It’s also worth mentioning that there is now a brand-new low-cost scanner called the Revopoint Inspire. I have also tested this, and you can read it in my Revopoint Inspire 3D scanner review. The Revopoint Mini includes a plate which can be used to calibrate the onboard cameras on the scanner. This calibration process involves moving the scanner into various positions over the board while maintaining a set distance, and takes about 10 minutes. Revopoint recommends that the scanner only be calibrated “If the 3D model’s surface looks very rough or grainy.” Scanning the included calibration plate The MINI’s industrial-grade scanner precision of 0.02mm allows even the tiniest parts to be accurately scanned and presented as such. The output model has a high density of point clouds with a 0.05mm point distance. You can use the MINI for dental cast making, jewelry design, garage kit reproduction, miniature 3D model making, and other fields and instances in which obtaining detailed high-precision models is necessary. Revopoint has developed three powerful software for obtaining an even more perfect model: the 3D scanning software Revo Scan, the professional model editing software Revo Studio, and the calibration software Revo Calibration. Each of these software can be utilized at different stages of the scanning process to assist in creating a high-precision 3D scan that captures every inch of detail the user seeks to include.

As far as adjustability goes, you can both tilt the scanning head and extend it upwards through its telescoping feature. Both are nice features to have for scanning the top of larger objects that require the scanner head to be elevated. The applications of MIRACO span industries such as automotive manufacturing, aerospace engineering, healthcare, education and research, industrial maintenance and inspection, manufacturing and quality control, and artistic creation. Additionally, the entertainment industry, environmental science, geological research, 3D printing, rapid prototyping, virtual and augmented reality content creation, and 3D animation and object capture for software and game development, also benefit from MIRACO 3D scanner. With such a focus on delivering high-quality scans of small objects, the Revopoint MINI is best viewed as a portable industrial-grade scanner ideal for applications such as jewelry design, reverse engineering, industrial part design, 3D measurements, quality control, artifact archiving, coin archiving, and healthcare applications like medical analysis and data gathering. The Revopoint POP is an excellent 3D scanner for makers and small businesses in need of an affordable, cost-effective scanner that’s compact, versatile, and can produce scans of objects both large and small. The user also demonstrated a reverse engineering and 3D printing combo with a piece of jewelry: The original ring and its 3D printed copy thanks to a scan from the Revopoint MINI. 3D Scanning Detailed Models with the Revopoint Mini

To achieve this, both scanners use different light wavelengths (blue for the MINI and infrared for the POP 2). They also have different minimum and maximum scanning volumes, with the POP 2 offering a larger scanning area. The good points are that they provide all functions you need, they are stable and rarely crash, and none of them are cloud-based. So you are able to create 3D scans whenever you want.
