Description

The characters I fell in love with in the first book all grew in personality and there were several new additions, an eclectic bunch that I would never in my wildest dreams have thought had a place in this story, but they just added to the wow factor that this book delivers. The sale of customised goods or perishable goods, sealed audio or video recordings, or software, which has been opened. Kitty, Bridie and Celia, upon whom the story is largely based, all face life-changing decisions in one way or another, unsavoury characters rear their ugly heads and along with the revelation of long hidden secrets, this book embodies the great television drama serial it will one day surely become.

I am hoping the open ending and unanswered questions that I had after closing the second book will be resolved by Montefiore in the next book. Born in England in 1970 Santa Montefiore grew up on a farm in Hampshire and was educated at Sherborne School for Girls. And the exceptionally compelling, well-paced plot is filled with familial dynamics, drama, emotion, self-discovery, secrets, revelations, love, loss, heartbreak, courage, duty, and passion all surrounded by authentic historical events of the time. The sweeping nature of the novel and the grandness in scale, makes it a wonderful romantic saga to get lost in.

I was sorry to reach the end of The Daughters of Castle Deverill, as I now have to wait for the third and final chapter in the series. Other cancelled products: If you want to cancel products that are not damaged or incorrectly supplied, then you must inform us of this within seven working days following the date of receipt in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations or otherwise as soon as possible. The beautiful Castle Deverill, which is connected each of these characters, now stands ruined after a fire.

This is Santa Montefiore at her best – an enchanting read overflowing with deliciously poignant moments. And there is no indication on the cover that this is part of a trilogy, so I have a feeling a lot of readers are going to end up confused like I was.

I adore nature, so I tend to plant my characters in rural settlings - by the sea or in the countryside - and most of them are stand alone, except Last Voyage of the Valentina and The Italian Matchmaker, and my recent trilogy, The Deverill Chronicles, which is set in Ireland from 1910 to the sixties. All the characters from the first book are here with the addition of new off spring as the years progress. The view of the after life is somewhat unorthodox, with disembodied souls lurking around Deverill Castle and communicating with those with the gift of spiritual discernment. The story continues, it's 1925 and a new owner moves into the castle, but after a massive refurbishment there is a shocking discovery.

The story started moving, and the pieces started making sense together–I still felt like I was playing catch up the whole time, though. As The Daughters of Castle Deverill opens, Montefiore is quick to transport her readers to the current comings and goings of her characters. Kitty herself is raising a young family, but she longs for Jack O’Leary — the long-ago sweetheart she cannot have.
