Intel does not license You to make, have made, use, sell, or import any Intel technology or third-party products, or perform any patented process, even if referenced in the Materials. Any other licenses from Intel require additional consideration. Nothing in this Agreement requires Intel to grant any additional license.

Your use of any third-party software is subject to Your compliance with the license You obtain directly from that third-party. A listing of any such third-party software may be in a text file accompanying the Materials.If using USB flash drive for the BIOS update or recovery,format it to the FAT32 format. A USB on the NTFS formatwill not work. The network adapter does not work out of the box with ESXi versions prior to 6.7u1 or 6.5u2. If you need older ESXi versions to work you have to inject the ne1000 driver manually to the installer image (ESXi 6.5: 0.8.3-7vmw.650.2.50.8294253 / ESXi 6.7: 0.8.4-1vmw.670.1.28.10302608). ENTIRE AGREEMENT; SEVERABILITY. The terms and conditions of this Agreement and any NDA with Intel constitute the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof, and merge and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, understandings, negotiations and discussions. Neither Party will be bound by any terms, conditions, definitions, warranties, understandings, or representations with respect to the subject matter hereof other than as expressly provided herein. In the event any provision of this Agreement is unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law or applicable court decision, such unenforceability or invalidity will not render this Agreement unenforceable or invalid as a whole, instead such provision will be changed and interpreted so as to best accomplish the objectives of such provision within legal limits.

The Coffee Lake NUC is delivered as a barebones unit. This means there’s no operating system, memory or an SSD drive installed. You’ll need to buy them separately and install yourself or buy from a vendor that does it for you. It’s not that difficult to install the components yourself though. You will need to bring a DDR4 SODIMM memory module or actually ideally two of them for dual-channel operation. Furthermore you’ll need some form of storage. The NUC8i5BEH model has a slot for a 2.5″ SATA drive, whereas the more compact NUC8i5BEK model does not. Both models have an M.2 slot that can be used with NVMe or SATA SSD drives. On NUC8i5BEH you can even install both an M.2 and a SATA drive simultaneously. Since the mainboard is the same on the NUC, the NUC8i5BEK also has the connectors for the SATA drive, but there’s absolutely no space in the case for one. LICENSE TO USE COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS. This Agreement does NOT obligate Licensee to provide Intel with comments or suggestions regarding the Software. However, if Licensee provides Intel with comments or suggestions for the modification, correction, improvement or enhancement of (a) the Software or (b) Intel products or processes that work with the Software, Licensee grants to Intel a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, royalty-free license, with the right to sublicense, under Licensee’s intellectual property rights, to incorporate or otherwise utilize those comments and suggestions.

The Software is a commercial item (as defined in 48 C.F.R. 2.101) consisting of commercial computer software and commercial computer software documentation (as those terms are used in 48 C.F.R. 12.212). Consistent with 48 C.F.R. 12.212 and 48 C.F.R 227.7202-1 through 227.7202-4, You will not provide the Software to the U.S. Government. Contractor or Manufacturer is Intel Corporation, 2200 Mission College Blvd., Santa Clara, CA 95054. d) “Data Controller” means You who shall determine the purposes for which and the manner in which Customer Data is processed. LICENSE TO USE COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS. This Agreement does NOT obligate You to provide Intel with comments or suggestions regarding the Software or Cloud Services. If you don't have access to ESXi Binaries you can sign up for a free version. ASSIGNMENT. You may not delegate, assign or transfer this Agreement, the license(s) granted or any of Your rights or duties hereunder, expressly, by implication, by operation of law, or otherwise and any attempt to do so, without Intel’s express prior written consent, will be null and void. Intel may assign, delegate and transfer this Agreement, and its rights and obligations hereunder, in its sole discretion.

The performance of a single NUC is sufficient to run a small home lab including a vCenter Server and 3 ESXi hosts. It's a great system to take along for demonstration purposes.
