About this deal

Because they have a low impedance and high Sensitivity, you technically won’t need an amp for either. This is where things get really interesting, as the 9600 does present a stark contrast to the flatter, more neutral, airier 9500. The other difference is that the treble doesn’t have that bite that the 9500 had. Because of this, you can listen to it for longer periods of time without fatigue.

One last thing I would like to note is that, although I think that the DT 990 Pro is still the stronger option for games (especially FPS ones), the SHP9600 with a ModMic does make make for a good contender, as I feel like its imaging is able to keep up with the requirements for competitive online games and its significantly higher efficiency makes it compatible amongst a wider array of set-ups and systems. The cups are oval-shaped and rather shallow, but your ears will fit inside just fine and the headband doesn’t dig into the top of your head. Well, that’s about it for today my friend! I hope you’ve enjoyed this Philips SHP9600 Review and came away with some valuable insight.Ah, I should’ve clarified that I bought the SHP9600 as a Christmas present for him. I’m just using them more often than he does, when I visit the parental household. In this article, we’ll take one last look at Philips’ attempt to improve on the 9500, and help you make a sound decision. i was expecting these headphones to be a significantly better than my KZ ZST earphones but they sound significantly better than my new pair of Philips shp9600. where my impressions of my KZ ZST have a more cleaner bass sound where i can hear and distinguish different instruments clearly and my Philips shp9600 have specific genres that these are better on but the bass are more muddy and i cant distinguish sounds clearly.

I’ve almost never had to take either off of my head for any reason at all, and quite literally can wear them for hours on end – even when I’m not listening to music! The DragonFly Red is a bit more expensive, but I talk about why its DAC chip is superior to many others here. DON’T OVERTHINK IT!!The SHP9600, like its predecessor, is extremely efficient. At an impedance of 32ohms and a sensitivity of level 101dB/mw, I found myself being able to drive these with virtually everything I powered them with. Whether I listened to the SHP9600 directly plugged into my PC’s motherboard’s on-board audio or powered them with a discrete headphone amplifier like the JDS Labs Element II, I thought they sounded great and never felt like they showcased any of the issues I would find when underpowering a headphone; which makes them a great option for those don’t currently own a headphone amplifier. Build and Comfort Hi all, I just got my hands on the SHP9600 and I noticed there aren't a lot of impressions out there. Obligatory "I'm no audiophile" lol but here are my impressions after about an hour of listening.
