About this deal

Jean-Claude Ellena would never put out something like a rich, Middle Eastern fragrance, which is one of the many, many reasons why I have no patience or liking for him at all.

Moreover, the oud is sweetened so some folks may not notice it since it blends well with the vanilla and amber. I avoid to spray it on coats or jackets because the stuff will stick to the garments for days ruining my chances of enjoying a real perfume. Everyone I know loves سحر الكلمات (magic words) it's got just the right amount of everything going for it: sweet, smokey, even a little tart. And that is how I got my 3 unsolicited compliments while I myself still wasn't able to enjoy the fragrance as they were experiencing it. The scent is a simple thin veil of smoky salty sweet pineapple popcorn, and the jewel in its depths is a slightly funky authentic oud note which I haven't smelled in any western oud fragrance. As it is so often the case, also concerning Kalemat Black it is a pity that the top notes do not last very long. I tested it and tested Kalemat, both reminds me of each others, except that Sehr Al kalemat was veery week ( very strange tho ) On the other hand, the normal Kalemat was a beast ! At first I honestly was very disappointed because I was expecting a projection beast upon application.

I’m at the end of my fourth test of Sehr el Kalemat, and I think the most accurate description of my reaction is that I’m underwhelmed. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Spices, Berries, Patchouli, Rose, Saffron, Guaiac Wood, Incense-y tonalities, something almost oud-y, Vanilla, Amber, and Musk. Once that dissipates you will be greeted with a very wearable cold weather sweet vanilla/oud fragrance which is "western" enough not to offend anybody even the relatively inexperienced noses. You already know I (we) luved Kalemat – but I must say you’ve actually really intrigued me with this description of it’s ‘Blacker’ brother. Kalemat Black (Sehr Al-Kalemat) just keeps on gifting me with this divine magic sweetness that is transcendent. I prefer to smell this on a man (or scent my home with it) than to wear it myself, the smell of burning woods is abit much for me, eventhough I find the ambery-vanilla aspect of it absolutely, deliciously gorgeous, I just love sweet ambery scents.

When the leather and cinnamon arrive the oud then mellows and mingles with them to create a different perfume than what you started with all together and both are great! However, I've worn it enough to confidently say that it projects heavily, but not quite beast mode IMO. By the start of the fourth hour, Sehr el Kalemat smells of a super dry, smoky, somewhat oud-y, burnt woods, followed by blueberry-honey that is lightly infused with saffron and amber.this scent stays sweet the whole life and for those who are not into sweet and deep fragrances, look at something else.
