I have been trying to use a Farseer on a foot as a discount but it's amazing the added advantage the range gets you. Literally to me this is like taking a Daemon Prince for Chaos... with wings as opposed to on foot. So much is gained it's just hard to ignore. Explore. This is another good time to take a campaign break during another “do everything” mission. Yes, you need to produce a Farseer Skyrunner and battle a small Tau army, but progress stops until you choose to visit one particular tile with a Farseer Skyrunner.

A Farseer's duties mean that they do not usually engage in combat duties despite their previous experiences and enormous psychic potential for destruction. Yet in times of desperate need, Farseers can return to the battlefield where they use their incomparable psychic powers to aid their species in combat.

Shining Spears. I need something that can keep up to these guys. The Farseer Skyrunner is almost automatic. Shining Spears got a bit of a boost from the Exarch changes but the Psychic buffs need to keep up. To manifest the psychic power, you must first pass a Psychic test. The opposing player can then select one of their PSYKER units that is within 24" of the PSYKER unit attempting to manifest the power and attempt to deny that power before its effects are resolved by passing a Deny the Witch test. Eldritch Storm - Even with their extensive planning and understanding of destiny, there are times when a Farseer must unleash the raw potential of the Warp against their foes. On such occasions, the Farseer may truly exhibit his species' psychic potential as these exhibitions of raw energy can yield tremendous destructive force.

The Role of Mixed Armies

Will of Asuryan seems pretty weak to me as Eldar have other ways to mitigate Leadership if you need it. When you select a PSYKER unit to manifest psychic powers, you select one psychic power that unit knows and attempt to manifest it. With the exception of Smite, you cannot attempt to manifest the same psychic power more than once in the same battle round, even with different PSYKER units. The same PSYKER unit cannot attempt to manifest Smite more than once during the same battle round. Bursting forth from the Webway, the forces of the Asuryani have finally arrived in 9th edition proper – and they’ve brought friends. The brand new Aeldari codex covers not only the Craftworld Eldar, but also the cryptic Harlequins and grim Ynnari, making it one of the largest and deepest codexes we’ve seen this edition. Imperium, Aeldar, or Chaos is basically a unifying key between multiple factions from several codexes. So in the imperium example it’s like IG allied with space marines or space marines with knights. For chaos it would be demons allied with chaos marines. Any army not using a “pure” single faction army would fall into the master categories.

If that type of roll involves one D6 (e.g. a hit roll), do not roll a dice; that roll is treated as an unmodified roll of 6. Fortune, Executioner and Mind War still largely do what they’ve always done with minor tweaking – Fortune lets a unit ignore wounds on a 5+, good on the Avatar or a big bomb unit, Executioner is a very powerful Witchfire power that gets a bit of a targeting sidegrade (no longer hitting Characters with nine or fewer wounds at all, but now otherwise being freely targetable within 18”), and Mind War remains a funny but not actually good way to construct hilarious hypothetical combos to blow opposing Characters’ heads off.
