I can relate to Phoebe a lot in the sense that she felt unworthy of some of the things that she wanted, which is why she pushed Ren and Bel together.

Out of the three books I've read from Kelk, this was the heaviest on the rom but the com was definitely the star of the show. So when she lands in the Hollywood hills a place that proves film stars, golden beaches and secret waterfalls don’t just exist in the movies she can’t resist playing matchmaker for her handsome neighbour, carpenter Ren. Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper 360/Harper Collins for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts. She is kind, a romantic at heart and always wants the best for the people around her even if that means sacrificing part of herself for it. Speechify lets you listen to any text, including all books in the world with the best voices out there!

Sadly her sister has a job that means she will be elsewhere for a few days, so Phoebe must entertain herself.

The only steamy scene took place toward the very end of the book and truthfully, you could blink and miss it. It’s hard to explain but I felt like it had real meaning behind it and that meaningfulness really made me FEEL and struck a chord. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. What ensues is a delightful portrayal of finding oneself again in platonic friendship, honest family relationships, and even taking chances on romantic love! Before you know it, Phoebe is writing love letters for Bel to give to Ren and tagging along on their dates.

A two-week holiday in LA proves to be life-changing for mild-mannered and lovelorn Brit, Pheobe Chapman. When discussing her latest novel, Lindsey said how it had taken time to adjust to life in LA but loves it now and this story is almost a love letter to LA itself.

Then the whirlwind that is Bel arrives, forging an instant friendship, and declaring her undying love for the abovementioned neighbour. Regardless, we only recommend products or services we use personally and believe will add value to our readers.

Phoebe Chapman is visiting her sister Suzanne in LA, but when Suzanne has to go away for work for most of Phoebe’s visit, Suzanne’s friend Bel takes her under her wing and shows her the sights of LA. You've been warned so I don't wanna hear it 😂 My only 'complaint' with this is there weren't enough scenes between Ren and Phoebe to warrant slanging around the l-word. An utterly unforgettable, spirit-lifting summer rom com that's full of soul, joy, laugh-out-loud moments and meaning.

The pacing is really slow in the beginning, the slow burn is SO slow that she doesn´t even realize she has feelings for him until the middle of the book.

This was a cute, easy read that didn’t take itself too seriously even when tackling more serious issues. I won't give spoilers about her connection with Ren, but the book is worth reading just for the charming, fun, sweet, snarky, etc. As the ultimate friend, Phoebe can never seem to say no, which how she wound up in an absolutely hilarious escapade dressed as a mermaid. She has her flaws and she has a past btu she has come to LA for a break from her life and it was great sharing her adventure.
