The dramatic weather conditions of 2015 resulted in an excellent harvest of red-skinned grapes, with pinot noir, in particular, showing exceptional maturity.On the palate, this vintage is silky with a delicate structure leading to a slightly more robust finish carrying notes of plums and damsons. Initial hints of pink grapefruit and blood orange pave the way for more robust flavours of morello cherries, wild strawberries, plum and rhubarb. I think this would make for a fantastic gift or even as an award or something to give away it would make such an impression. I vaguely get the suggested aroma of almond paste giving way to elderflower which is again subtly evoked in the taste which settles on the delicate side of bitterness. The bouquet offers refreshing notes of pink grapefruit, blood orange, wild strawberries and rhubarb.
