What I got: I was living a pointless life until I had a profound spiritual awakening and now that gives me the right to tell you that everything you are doing is wrong. Here's a bunch of random abstract ideas you can worship to get you on the right path. Rise Sister Rise is an incantation, an initiation, an invocation for you toremember the truth of who you are. It’s a potent mix of divine feminine history, spiritual memoir, incandescent poetry and powerful mantras which willinspire you to unbind the magic within you.” I'm non-binary and I loved this book! You don't have to be a Woman™ to balance your inner "feminine" and "masculine" - we just don't have the exact right words to describe our experiences yet. I would be interested to see a guide for tuning into our internal seasons for those who don't menstruate. This book is "a call to arms for women to rise up, tell their truth and lead using their innate powers and wisdom." I’m a super-fan of Rebecca Campbell… Rebecca guides her reader to step into their authentic power so that they can live and lead at their highest potential.’I most want to share the chapter that hit hard for me. This would be the chapter about connecting to your period, especially when she mentions that she too had problems and if those problems occurred outside of menstruation, she’d have marched right off to the doctor. This hit me hard because struggling with my period since I went off the pill had become the norm. There were times I felt as if this was just something I had to endure and deal with. I won’t go into details, but if you want to know more, leave a comment and I’ll share that with you. In short, this chapter is what made me march to the doctor for medical advice. This chapter reminded me that we as women do not need to suffer or bear the pain. We just don’t have to. Powerful Chapters Worth Mentioning Initially I thought this book was going to be a bit light - but the more I read the more I enjoyed it. There's lots of stuff here about embodying what you do - how unless you love what you do you will never be a success, and how if you do love and embody what you do then it will all just come naturally.
