About this deal

The Three 5G Hub meanwhile has them all massively beat for speed – but again, you need 5G coverage to take advantage of that. It also curiously has fewer ethernet ports (just two), which might be an issue for some. I don't know much about this but to it seems like it's not really about if the modem can enter bridgemode or not (because it can) - it's more about if the web-interface supports/shows the menu - at least both the other guy and me had the same firmware version except for the WebUI-version. In reply to a post by barker04:Thanks - How does the wifi compare? Seen reports of the MR600 being flaky on wifi. One of the joys of 4G routers is that they’re usually incredibly easy to set up, as is the case with the Huawei B535 / Huawei HomeFi Plus.

Anyways - it is very odd that this guy on reddit says he has bridgemode (which he also shows with the image included) - our modems are totally identical - both hardware wise and version wise - except for my WebUI that differs. We even have the same ISP. However, the B535 has limited settings outside of Bridge mode. e.g. right now I have it on a static IP so I can switch gateways on my network whenever I want, however, as far as I can tell there is no way to set the subnet. The interface is nicer, but it feels limited by comparison. That makes it a lot more convenient than fibre broadband. There’s very little waiting and if you move house you can easily take your Huawei B535 with you. Performance & Speeds The Three 5G Hub is sure to be more expensive, but there you’re getting even higher speeds if you have the coverage. ConclusionI’m not aware of any way to change the network profile that’s been installed on the device by the supplier. I can't make any comment on their wi-fi performance as I disable this and use access points connected via ethernet. In reply to a post by buggerlugs:Good question Barker, I don't think my local mast is 64QAM yet, the growth of 6ft high nettles inside its fenced off area makes me think no ones been to it in the last 5 years. I seem to be in the middle of about 5 towers, which is possibly why I have so many issues, but if you are having similar problems, the analytics on the B535 make it the winner so far - that plus it has a proper bridge mode. The issue really arises because it’s a 4G network and depending on what other users are doing, the weather, capacity/demand plus which way the wind is blowing apparently causes speeds to drastically differ.

Tutustu ominaisuuksiin Avainominaisuudet What's also interesting is that custom band selection gets me better bandwidth than my Samsung S10 as well - even if I stand on my roof next to my external antenna and hold my phone up high... In reply to a post by barker04:n the settings I wondered if you can see if it does the 64QAM mentioned ? I think the mast I might connect to supports this - although have no way to know for sure before I buy this so keen to get a router that supports this if I can .I think the beta firmware on the MR600 is really solid, and it appears many issues have been ironed out in the year since the product released. I suspect we will never get new firmware for the B535. I'll try again tomorrow...I'll also try forcing Band 1 on the MR600 and comparing since I now know it's a magic one!

Beyond these, the most obvious alternative is fibre broadband. This is potentially faster (depending on what’s available where you are), but setup is more time consuming and typically requires an engineer visit. You also typically need a landline, which can add to the cost. PlansMR600 has the band selection in the interface in the beta firmware (and they're still releasing firmware!), however for me this doesn't really work as intended, as previously explained. Also, there are some band combinations that it doesn't support for 4G+. E.g. it won't do 1+3, which is important on the Three network.

Using LTE H-Monitor really helps with the B535, and it's frustrating that the MR600 doesn't report cell ID.

Ha, don't forget masts on some networks are being updated to MIMO, so you have multiple transmit antenna and multiple receive antenna. Written an 4T4R for example. The newer handsets have this, e.g. your S10 will certainly support. The "cheaper" design home routers will not have provision for this. Maximum size for each attachment is 10MB (rar,jpg,zip,pdf,war,txt,docx,doc,png,mp3,mp4,xls,xlsx,gif,jpeg are supported).
