If you’ve a bit more time, why not make these little snowmen for the children? Spray a clean and empty juice bottle with white spray paint and allow to dry. Decorate with permanent marker to make the face and buttons, add a little felt scarf and fill with their favourite sweets. If your theme is pastels this Christmas, this may be the choice for you. These have been sprayed with PlastiKote Chalk spray paint. Add a layer of Translucent Glitter spray paint to pimp them up for the festive season. When it comes to protecting yourself from the harmful effects of spray paint fumes, it is important to wear the proper protective gear.

Place special, handmade baubles in pride of place on the Christmas tree, preferably at eye level so that you and your guests can really appreciate the work that has gone into them. You could also attach special baubles to your Christmas wreath ideas or Christmas garlands using wire. Fourth, rinse the sponge or cloth in the spray bottle of water. Fifth, wring out the sponge or cloth. Sixth, wipe down the area again with a wet sponge or cloth. Once your tree is primed, it’s time to start painting. Choose any color or colors that you like and start spraying. Work in small sections so that the paint doesn’t get too wet and start running. A place name holder is not always the first thing you think of when planning your festive meals so this is a great idea for a last minute make. Simply spray cones to match your theme using PlastiKote Fast Dry Enamel spray paint. With many colours to choose from plus some stunning metallics and glitters, one can will be enough to do lots of cones. Go bold with colour or just spritz the tips with white spray paint and silver glitter to give a frosted appearance. Make a couple of these little sweet treat gift jars and keep in the cupboard for those unexpected visitors – they’ll be so impressed! It’s a great way of making a box of wrapped chocolates or sweets go further but look extra special. If you do decide to spray paint your artificial Christmas tree, here are a few tips to help you get the best results: If you need to apply a second coat of paint, wait for the first coat to dry completely and then repeat the process. Submerge the cut decal in a bowl filled with room-temperature water, until the decal is able to slide off then apply the decal to the surface of the bauble and press firmly.

Be sure to work in a well-ventilated area and wear protective clothing, such as a mask and goggles. Can you spray paint an artificial Christmas tree white? Yes, it is possible to use spray paint on a Christmas tree, but it is generally not recommended as it can be dangerous and potentially damaging to the tree. Use a sweeping motion to apply the paint to the tree, starting at the top and working your way down. Make sure to overlap your strokes to ensure even coverage.

Use light, even coats of paint, and allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next one. For any bare wood surface, always use primer. PlastiKote Twist & Spray Primer is ideal. If your item has already been spray painted with PlastiKote, you can just put your new colour over the top but if you want to ‘kill’ the existing colour, ie if it is dark and you’re going light, or you’re not sure what paint or varnish was previously use, priming will give you a good base to start on. Priming also gives added durability. You’ll need a clean glass jar and lid, a small ornament (a little Christmas dec, cone or seed head for example), a can of PlastiKote spray paint (Fast Dry Enamel) and some sweets or chocolates. Don’t forget to paint the inside. The branches as well as the very inside surface of your tree need to be painted. Which cannot undo the damage. You can spray paint wooden lettersso you can decorate the tree with them. Tools you need to spray paint Christmas tree

If you feel a little more ambitious, these mini cone trees are a cute decoration and could double as place name holders. The mini maché planters and gift box are from Hobbycraft. Rub-on transfers are an easy way to bring a unique touch to Christmas baubles, plus, unlike paint, they are pretty mess-free! You can either buy ready-printed designs, or alternatively, you can make your own designs using an inkjet printer and waterslide decal paper. Our top tip for this time of year is to make sure the ambient temperature is over 10 degrees. Spray paint doesn’t like the cold! This stool and cabinet have both had a Chalk makeover, the stool in Pastel Green and the cabinet in Pale Rose.Reuse and recycle for an eco-friendly Christmas this year with a little help from PlastiKote spray paints. Sarah sent us this lovely chair makeover. It was a first time project and we were thrilled to hear that it had inspired her to do more. Don’t miss any step if you are a freshie because you can mess things up in no time and will regret it later. Large leaves make great place settings when sprayed. Either add a tag as shown or use a marker to write on the leaf. An easy way to upcycle an old wreath is to spray it with a colour to suit your décor. Whilst it dries, spray some pine cones in the same colour or perhaps a metallic and when everything is dry, hot glue the cones to the wreath.
