Bud Zero is something I can enjoy with seafood, which is complemented best with the malty flavor and effervescence of beer, and for me there is no other reasonable substitute.

Now Budweiser has released a “new” version of “Prohibition”, this time more simply named Budweiser “Zero”. Bevo was a non-alcoholic malt drink or “near beer” that came in under 0.5% ABV to get around the laws of the time. It fell out of favour in the late 20s when everyone was allowed to get drunk again.

There are quite a few methods used for brewing non-alcoholic beer. Some control the temperature during fermentation and alcohol is never created. Some use a special distillation method post-fermentation to remove the alcohol. Budweiser non-alcoholic beer is made by removing the alcohol from regular Budweiser using a process called reverse osmosis. Light to medium-bodied, with zero alcohol, zero sugar, and low calories.
