It was so interesting to read about how they formed their business and the way they persevered as business and life partners. I thought it would be about design, but in fact - even better - it is about love, marriage, family, and the highs and lows of starting and running a business. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal.

This kind of story is that startup companies need to encourage themself to keep going, but on other side knew the risks (though in this story the risks taken was successful). To me, the book fulfilled the premise: it's about the journey of a couple in building their successful business and what they learned in the way.As an aspiring entrepreneur everyone always tells you “you need to hustle” or “you need to be willing to sacrifice for your business” and it’s hard to know what that means, but this book does a wonderful job at actually making those struggles tangible and relatable. What on earth was the publisher thinking putting out a book by these talented designers that isn’t filled with pictures.

You still get plenty of interior design advice from Shea, doubling as life advice and sprinkled throughout the book like scented candles in a wannabe designers home. Inside these pages, you’ll find a heartwarming memoir that profiles the company’s beginnings, the McGee’s journey as a family, and all the lessons learned along the way. I'm glad I went for audio version of the book, because I'm a bit of a slow reader and this book is so well narrated.
