Description

So when you use the Scrubba Wash Bag with the right detergent, you’re taking one small step to help the environment. Another alternative washing method I do with REALLY dirty clothes is keep the dry bag open and just use it as a container essentially. Then I just use my hands inside the bag to use my hands to directly agitate it in the water. Yes, the Scrubba wash bag is definitely worth it. It could be a bit pricey but for its performance, it is hard to find a good alternative to it. There I was, washing clothes in the sink and bathtub on holiday, with water everywhere, when we needed clean clothes the next day. Definitely not much fun. This might not be a huge issue, but whenever you don’t have access to liquid detergents it would be a challenge to use it.

Sometimes we’d jump in the shower with our clothes on and wash them in there, wringing them out and hanging them up afterwards. A bit like a standard washing machine - if you overload the Scrubba you are unlikely to get your clothes washed as thoroughly as they could be. Polyurethane is one of those magical substances that helps improve many of the products we use every day – even if most of us don’t realise it! Indeed, according to the Essential Chemical Industry, ‘No other plastic allows itself to be made to measure in the same way as a polyurethane. Foams can be flexible or rigid, resistant to cold or particularly kind to skin.’ Wildly adaptable, this nifty substance can even occur as a spray or coating, adding vital strength in the form of defence against corrosion and abrasion. TPU has been used in the textile industry for many years, where it has achieved proven results and is particularly admired for its outstanding abrasion resistance.” Feeling The Scrubba Wash Bag Materials

Fill with water to the level marked on the bag. Make sure the water is warm, and not too hot. You can use cold, but it won’t work quite as well, and you’ll need to wash for longer. We tested the Scrubba with three small towels. We attached soiled swatches to the towels and followed the instructions, using powder detergent. We removed the swatches from the towels after using the bag for three minutes. After drying the swatches, we used a spectrophotometer to read how much soil had been removed. This doesn’t sound like anything too difficult, and it’s not. But the truth is hand washing your clothes is time consuming, and often doesn’t let you get your gear perfectly clean (especially if you’re trying to do this after you’ve been on a multi-day hike. In testing, we found that it does take a little while to master the washing process, but it’s straightforward and simple enough for anyone to get the hang of eventually. And we’re happy to report that the Scrubba Wash Bag does deliver on its promise of “clean clothes anywhere.” Using The Scrubba Wash Bag

If you're some distance from any laundry facilities –if you're camping, for example–this may be one of the better solutions available. However, if you have access to a local laundrette you might prefer the connection with the locals and the ability to wash more clothes at once. Besides, it is not hard on your hands or arms to use. You will be able to wash clothes more comfortably using this wash bag compared to hand washing. Lastly, you can use this wash bag as a storage space to keep your wallet, phone, keys, etc. when it is dry. Final Words – Scrubba Wash Bag Review If this sounds like a mechanism that will come in handy on your next excursion, be sure to get one up before you head out the door!

Usage & Benefits

We like to roll our clothes in a dry towel after we’ve wrung them out to get even more water out. We found this can really aid in the overall drying time. Give all your clothes a good wring out and then dry with a towel. Scrubba actually make a wash and dry kit which includes a really good drying towel and a stretchy washing line - perfect for using in campervans or whilst camping attaching it between trees (or between your tent and a tree). The Scrubba Wash and dry kit is available here .
