The remaining family members are not without charm. A standing ovation goes to Bill Paxton who plays Severen. Severen is a handsome, if compelling, brute. He’s not a character for the faint of heart but for those of us who are left breathless by bad boys he has a certain unquestionable charm and the writers had the good sense to imbibe his character with some of the best quips of the film, which Paxton delivers effortlessly. Stealing scene after scene. Aaliyah was so legendary as the Vampire Queen Akasha that even though Queen of the Damned (a “stand-alone” sequel to Interview With the Vampire) is not exactly what Martin Scorsese would define as cinema, her performance and entire look — which includes a metal halo crown, metal choker, and metal bikini top — is. Prolific Spanish filmmakerJesús Franco was known for stylish exploitation films, and cast his favorite leading lady Soledad Miranda (billed as Susann Korda)in what would be the fourth of eight collaborations between the two. Franco transposed Bram Stoker’s short story “Dracula’s Guest” to 1970s Istanbul, where Dracula’s heir sets her sights on American lawyer Linda (Ewa Strömberg).

Dracula’s Bride (Monica Bellucci)/Bram Stokers Dracula (1992): There were a few vampire beauties in this Dracula film so it took something special to stand out. Monica Bellucci has that something. I wish I knew what it was. In any case, she doesn’t really talk but she slides up between your legs while you’re in bed minding your own business and she eats babies. SOLD! This B-horror movie is rather famous though not for the reasons you might think. The plot is sparse, most of the acting is sub par and the visual effects are ridiculous. It’s famous because drop dead gorgeous Alyssa Milano gets naked in multiple scenes and she’s not the only one. I actually like Alyssa Milano and think she’s a fairly decent actress. If you are a fan of her bodacious bod as well you MUST see this film..uncut of course. With another spooky season upon us, I have been asked to do the unthinkable: rank the hot vampires from movies and television by their hotness. I can’t really explain the methodology behind this heavily curated ranking of hot vampires that gave me several migraines, except to say that every vampire on this list had to be a vampire and had to be hot. I started with a list of almost 100 vampires from movies and TV shows and eliminated as I saw fit, cutting some human characters who only became vampires late in their stories (Elena Gilbert of The Vampire Diaries, Bella Swan of The Twilight Saga), the boring vampires (Elena Gilbert , Bella Swan ), and Tom Cruise from Interview with the Vampire. I favored unexpected choices because while you’re reading a blog about hot people, you may as well learn something. Essentially, there is nothing scientific to this. I simply made a list of vampires and then decided who, according to me, is hot enough to be on it. Of course, hotness includes not just looks, but personality, style, and, perhaps most importantly, hair. I learned a few things on this journey: modern vampires are excruciatingly hot in a way that makes me feel bad; they cause me to compromise my morals, because a majority of these hotties are mass murderers; and most vampires wear supreme outerwear (usually leather). The implication is that she is deeply repressed. Where does all that repression go? It's often directed inward in the form of erotic dreams where inhibitions and public criticism are stripped away. Most of these dreams are being spurred on by Martin, including a full on partially drug induced orgy and blood bath with fellow college co-eds.The idea that many of the vampire encounters seem like dreams rather than actual visitations is a big part of this movies appeal. While not at all one of my favorites, if you are a die hard vampire movie fan who loves violence, gore and romance then you owe it to yourself to watch this film. The acting is top notch. I never thought that Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise could act, but their performances made these characters come to life in a way Anne Rice’s novel by the same name, couldn’t. Tom Cruise does a bang up job of playing the lead, Lestat de Lioncourt and Brad Pitt is brilliant as Louis de Pointe du Lac. Their prose has them delivering lines with the sort of velvet smoothness of very persuasive con men. Everything about their characters drips with extravagance and a wanton lust for everything and everyone around them. Antonio Banderas and Christian Slater were quite good as well and Kirsten Dunst manages to drag the plot out of the garbage can it belongs in and practically steals several scenes, transforming them into something quite palatable.Based on the French novella “Carmilla,” which would also inspire Hammer Films’ Karnstein Trilogy a decade later, “Blood and Roses” is notable for launching Roger Vadim’s fruitful collaboration with cinematographer Claude Renoir, who would later shoot Vadim’s cult classic, “Barbarella.” StarringMel Ferrer as Leopoldo De Karnstein and Elsa Martinelli as Georgia Monteverdi. Jessica Hamby became a vampire while living a repressed life in the South, forbidden from going anywhere but church and choir. And even after becoming a vampire, her maker, Bill Compton (who sadly did not make the list because it’s competitive), forces her to live conservatively to prevent her from becoming an impulsive monster. Nonetheless, throughout the series, Jessica grows in her confidence and gets progressively hotter. And Jessica isn’t like most vampires. In lieu of a dark wardrobe of mostly leather, she goes for sundresses, ideal for the Louisiana heat, that accentuate her shiny red (the color of blood) hair. Winona Rider plays our innocent heroin Mina, the near divine love of Dracula’s dark heart. She has a lovely allure, ensconced in rich Victorian gowns and heaving bodice. She makes the perfect sacrificial innocent to Oldmans ancient evil. The film also boasts a cadre of terrific actors: Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldman, Cary Elwes, Keanu Reeves, Sadie Frost and music legend Tom Waits.

ThisSwedish / Swiss / German horror film was directed by sexploitation pioneer Joseph W. Sarno, who had a fruitful adult film career under various pseudonyms, working with Annie Sprinkle, Ron Jeremy, and Harry Reems (“Deep Throat”). A women’s cult resurrects their vampire queen, using the willing young vessel played by Swedish actress Marie Forså. Is perpetual horniness the hottest quality a person could have? Absolutely not. But Laszlo, who visits libraries (hot) for the pornography, almost has me convinced that it is. Admittedly, this is a mostly modern trait. The vampire has evolved since the advent of film and TV in the 20th century, breaking some of the aforementioned rules in favor of being hotter onscreen. The vampires of The Twilight Saga avoid the sun not because it causes them to perish but because it makes their skin glitter; the vampires in The Vampire Diaries universe can consume food and beverages along with regular-degular blood. We don’t really care about the noncanonical behavior, because they are all — and I can’t say this enough — extremely hot.Edward Cullen is the needy, toxic love interest from the Twilight Saga who feels entitled to Bella Swan and is quite stubborn and jealous for someone who has lived for just over a century. Edward is an attractive vamp, mostly because he is played by Robert Pattinson. The glittering-in-the-sun thing is actually kind of cute, but he is a dumbass, which I’m allowed to say because so am I. But I am not dumb enough to voluntarily attend high school as an immortal in my second century of life, which is exactly what Edward Cullen does. I understand the need for a purpose, but if I needed a place to show off my outerwear and hair taller than Lee Pace, I would probably just get a job. The story begins with a sweet displaced divorcee named Lucy (played beautifully by Dianne Wiest), trying to make a fresh start for herself and her two teen boys, Sam (Corey Haim) and Michael (Jason Patric) by moving them all in to the boys' creepily weird grandfather’s (Emmy and Tony Award-winner Barnard Hughes) house in Santa Carla, California. It’s a quaint little beach side town with all the standard tourist traps like a boardwalk, carnival rides and musty old bookstores as well as a very high homicide rate. Quentin Tarantino sparked renewed interest in this Spanish horror film, putting it on many of his top ten lists and naming a chapter of his “Kill Bill Vol. 1” book after it. DirectorVicente Aranda, the film attained cult status not only for its erotic horror themes, but for its rejection of fascism in Francoist Spain. Charlie Brewster (played by William Ragsdale) and Amy Peterson (Amanda Bearse) are an average young teenage couple in love or at least in lust. The opening scene has a frustrated Charlie trying to convince an apprehensive Amy, a virgin, to have sex with him and sets the tone of the film perfectly. This is a tale of seduction in which each scene builds sexual tension and pent up lust until it reaches its fever pitch; a scene in which a vampire's bite is the ultimate climax.

Djuna (Joséphine de La Baume)/Kiss of the Damned (2012): Djuna is a vampire that plays hard to get. She wants you and she hates that she wants you. That is what keeps her interesting. Her desire and bloodlust are both so powerful that when they surface, it’s almost too erotic. Need more vampires like her?

In the Fright Night remake, Colin Farrell is a vampire who wears a white, skin-tight muscle tank (very Ryan Atwood) and a sensible henley. Now that’s Martin Scorsese’s cinema, sweetie. Our leading man, Dracula himself, is played lavishly by Gary Oldman. His performance is riveting and intoxicating. He draws the viewers into the darkest heart of obsessive love and passionately pulls them along through a twisted path of blood lust, longing, obsession, savagery and horror that leaves you breathless at every turn. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was the definitive vampire story of the 1990s — the Gen X Twilight, if you will. And it was on the WB, so it was filled with hotties. Spike was a bad boy turned good one. As a human, he was a (unsuccessful) romantic poet, which is kind of hot even though it’s annoying. Then he became a vicious vampire and then a ’90s heartthrob guaranteed to make anyone weak in the knees, but especially Buffy herself and teenagers in 1999. In most of the cases with this "top 10 list" I am not rating the quality of the movies themselves. I am rating the sexiness of the vampires within them and this movie is no exception. Selene is hot,hot hot! She plays the role of a beautiful vampire warrior, entrenched in a war between the vampire and werewolf races. Although she is aligned with the vampires, she falls in love with Michael, a human who is sought by werewolves for unknown reasons. Salma Hayek’s character is not hot in her full vampiric form: She’s more like a crusty demon, which is why she didn’t make it to the top of this ranking. But Salma Hayek dancing with a snake in a bikini in From Dusk Till Dawn is a cultural moment that is too often ignored.
