Description

Messiah were a death/thrash metal band from Switzerland. The band is best remembered for their first two full-length albums, Hymn to Abramelin and Extreme Cold Weather. Messiah's debut album, Hymn to Abramelin, was released in 1986 through Chainsaw Murder Records. Their sophomore LP, titled Extreme Cold Weather, came out in 1987 and was re-issued on CD three years later by Nuclear Blast. The release also contained the band's debut album. The band then managed to sign to a German major metal label, Noise Records, which released their next album, Choir of Horrors, in 1991. Messiah released two more albums, Rotten Perish and Underground, through Noise, but disbanded in the mid-1990's. Although the band members have since rehearsed together, they have decided not to re-unite. This article needs additional citations for verification. Messiah were a British techno/ acid house duo formed in London in 1988 by members Mark Davies and Ali Ghani. [1] Biography [ edit ] Messiah is one of those bands before the 2000's that slowly faded Into obscurity as the years went on. Their second album, "Progenitor" sadly didn't do too well, and they disappeared shortly after. Known for their heavy use of sampling quotes from films, melodic female vocals, and aggressive synthesizer lines, the group released two full-length albums and several singles during the 1990s. Two singles reached the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart. [2] Discography [ edit ] Albums [ edit ] There are actually two versions of 21st Century Jesus (Something I didn't realise till attempting to buy this album) One UK version (And subsequent European versions that are identical) and the US version, which is easily spotted by it's simpler white album cover design. In terms of quality, both are fantastic, however the song layouts are slightly different. The UK version includes "Desire" and interludes "Defiance" and "Age of The Machine", whereas the US version scraps "Desire" and adds a new single named, "You're going Insane" and forgoes the interludes. Also to note, on the US version of the album, many of the songs are slightly different, with the song "Thunderdome" being very different and much, much heavier.
