About this deal

The three Minotaur-class armoured frigates [Note 1] were essentially enlarged versions of the ironclad HMS Achilles with heavier armament, armour, and more powerful engines. They retained the broadside ironclad layout of their predecessor, but their sides were fully armoured to protect the 50 guns they were designed to carry. Their plough-shaped ram was also more prominent than that of Achilles. [1] De Laurentiis, Antonella (2009). It was around the end of the 90s, I must have been around 15 or 16 when I accidentally, through a friend, came across a miniature of Minotaure. The small bottle with the mythological lettering "Minotaure" immediately aroused my curiosity. Karl Kerenyi viewed the Minotaur, or Asterios, as a god associated with stars, comparable to Dionysus. [28] Coins minted at Cnossus from the fifth century showed labyrinth patterns encircling a goddess' head crowned with a wreath of grain, [29] a bull's head, or a star. Kerenyi argued that the star in the Labyrinth was in fact Asterios, making the Minotaur a "luminous" deity in Crete, associated with a goddess known as the Mistress of the Labyrinth. [30] I have an earlier Cosmair formulation as it has been stressed over and again that any that followed were inferior. If it's mentioned numerous times and with much conviction, I felt it made sense to just go for it, and I am pleased with this 90s fruity tooty, orange creamsicle, dreamy amber. Aleksey Ryabinin's book Theseus (2018). [44] [45] provides a retelling of the myths of Theseus, Minotaur, Ariadne and other personages of Greek mythology. English pronunciation of the word "Minotaur" is varied. Strange how some fragrances can fall completely out of the radar and still hold their own on the market for years. Minotaure is one of them. I used to wear it for a long time and I still didn't think about it for a long time. Pablo Picasso made a series of etchings in the Vollard Suite showing the Minotaur being tormented, possibly inspired also by Spanish bullfighting. [42]

I remember their original ad campaign: When you bought it, they also gave you an unglazed perfumed red clay fragment that you could put in your drawer. The rough texture of this ancient looking shard fit perfectly with the character of Minotaure. Servius. On the Aeneid. 6.14. singulis quibusque annis 'every one year'. The annual period is given by Zimmerman, J.E. (1964). "Androgeus". Dictionary of Classical Mythology. Harper & Row; and Rose, H.J. (1959). A Handbook of Greek Mythology. Dutton. p.265. Zimmerman cites Virgil, Apollodorus, and Pausanias. The nine-year period appears in Plutarch and Ovid. In the past, I used to see the fragrance more in the cold season because of its strength, but the current version of Minotaure is also suitable for milder temperatures. Released in 1992, It is a complex blend of aromatic ingredients. The top notes are fruity bergamot, spicy tarragon and coriander, green galbanum, and floral aldehydes. This harmonious opening flows into a middle of lily of the valley, rose, geranium, and jasmine. While each flower gives off its own distinct profile, they form a gorgeous bouquet of garden scents. The base is savoury and strong, with sandalwood, Tonka bean, amber, musk, and cedar supporting the gentle sweetness of vanilla. The fragrance portfolio of Paloma Picasso (whose daughter this is now, I certainly don't have to tell anyone, do I?) is quite clear and Minotaure should remain the only men's fragrance. It's actually a bit of a pity, because under this name beautiful and interesting fragrances were offered. And only the signature scent Paloma Picasso and Minotaure have made it up to the present day and are a bit of a stepchild a bit offside.
