Description

Summary: This is a spin-off of the original story The Three Little Pigs. Alexander Wolf gets his chance to explain his side of the story. Instead of being an intimidating, evil wolf, he went to his two neighbors (the pig brothers) to borrow a cup of sugar. He had a rather nasty cold and so he ended up sneezing so hard that he blew their houses done. When he went to the third pig's house, the pig refused to open the door and insulted his grandmother. The police came and arrested the wolf and the media made a huge story of the whole thing. One of Uncle Remus' stories, "The Story of the Pigs" (alt. title: "Brer Wolf and the Pigs"), found in Nights with Uncle Remus (1883), is a re-telling of the story, with the following differences: De 3 Biggetjes* - Studio 100 Cd-Collectie 3/10 - Het Beste Van De 3 Biggetjes!". The first was Pigs in a Polka (1943) which tells the story to the accompaniment of Johannes Brahms' Hungarian Dances.which was a serious musical treatment, directed by Friz Freleng. In the PBS Kids series Super Why, Pig (Littlest Pig) is one of the main characters of the show. In the episode “The Three Little Pigs: Return of The Wolf,” it is revealed that he is the youngest of the three little pigs. He transforms into Alpha Pig with Alphabet Power. The Disney version of the three pigs can be seen in Walt Disney Parks and Resorts as meet-and-greet characters. [20] What can we do when we have two versions of an event? How can we figure out which one, if either, is true? They figured out that he would come down the chimney, so they lit a roaring fire in the fireplace and placed on it a large kettle of water. When the wolf finally found the hole in the chimney he crawled down but he fell straight into the pot of boiling water! In 1980, the book with Erik Blegvad illustrations was made. In 1988, Weston Woods Studios created a short film based on the book. In 1942 there was a Walter Lantz musical version, The Hams That Couldn't Be Cured. [14] The wolf (claiming he is a musical instructor) explains to the court how the three little pigs harassed him through their instrument playing which ends up destroying the wolf's house. a b Tatar, Maria (2002). The Annotated Classic Fairy Tales. W. W. Norton & Company. pp.206–211. ISBN 978-0-393-05163-6. While the students were epic failures in dealing with the court case I treasured this story because everyone and their mother knows the story of the Three Little Pigs and its interesting to see a different point and view and my teacher made this court case look like the O.J. Simpson trial for kids (Plus no one knew the details of who O.J. Simpson was just that he was a football player who murdered his wife and got away with it). The direct-to-video film Muppet Classic Theater includes The Three Little Pigs as one of the stories, featuring Miss Piggy, Andy and Randy Pig as the titular characters.

The fourth was The Three Little Bops (1957), featuring the pigs as a jazz band, who refused to let the inept trumpet-playing wolf join until after he died and went to Hell, whereupon his playing markedly improved, directed by Friz Freleng.

The three pigs and the wolf appear in the four Shrek films, and the TV specials Shrek the Halls and Scared Shrekless.Make sure the students are familiar with the traditional version of The Three Little Pigs before reading The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. Everybody knows the story of the Three Little Pigs. Or at least they think they do. But I'll let you in on a little secret. Nobody knows the real story, because nobody has ever heard my side of the story." That's Alexander T. Wolf talking, and he'd like to set the record straight. He says, "I don't know how this whole Big Bad Wolf thing got started, but it's all wrong . . . The real story is about a sneeze and a cup of sugar." The final issue The True Story of the Three Little Pigs brings up is the status of marginalized groups in society. When looking at the illustrations in the text, it becomes clear that Al is living in a society of pigs. Minority groups are often stereotyped, scapegoated, and treated poorly by the other groups in society. You can attempt to figure out whether or not Al is being treated fairly and talk about how people from marginalized groups should be treated. Specifically, when analyzing this story, you can discuss how bias affects the judicial process and what makes a trial fair. Questions for Philosophical Discussion Truth

This book was later adapted into a Weston Woods Studios animated short in 2008 with Paul Giamatti as the wolf. Suddenly, the big bad wolf came upon the second little pig’s house. He was searching for the Browny after his escape and when he found the Whitey’s house he was excited that he might get a chance to eat two little pigs. The little pig trembled as he told his brother about the wolf. In this version, Alexander T. Wolf tells his side of the story. <--From jail, if that tells you anything. With a loud howl, the foolish wolf jumped out of the pot, and ran straight out of the house and far, far away! The three little pigs cheered loudly. The big bad wolf was never seen again, and the three little pigs lived happily ever after!
