Another big hit with the Savvy household, this interactive dance mat is essentially a BeatBo model that clips onto a pivot point in the middle of the dance mat. Once in place it serves as a focus for movement around the mat and was particularly great for Baby Savvy starting to crawl and kneel up obstacles. It encourages upright movement around a central point. Standing at approximately 30cm tall, the BeatBelle is the perfect height for babies transitioning to sitting and crawling. Similarly it is also a good size for toddlers who might be dancing around it while in use.

The green button activates the “Dance and Move” function. A series of programmed movements, music and interactions to encourage little ones to get active. We particularly liked the fact that the music covered a range of tempo. This meant that alongside the perks of the exercise Little Savvy was getting as he bounced around the room to upbeat tunes, there was also a range of slower tempo sections to calm, sooth and mellow the excitement. Now is also a good time to say there’s a low volume setting too! Well done Fisher Price!

For a little guy, BeatBo has some big moves! This dancing buddy wiggles, sings & lights up to the beat with baby for on-the-go fun – because it’s always time for a dance party! Ideal for babies ages 6 months to 3 years, Bright Beats Smart Touch Play Space, from Fisher-Price, literally surrounds little ones with happiness in a semi-circular interactive plastic bar. Just like the name suggests, the Smart Touch Play Space is equipped with smart touch technology that responds to a baby’s touch with lights, music, and engaging sound effects. Second, the toy helps develop gross motor skills as babies progress from sitting and reaching, to crawling, and finally, to standing upright and walking. The 360-degree play experience encourages babies to dance and cruise around the whole space. Small holes on the interactive pivot base have motion sensors to detect babies or toddlers moving between the mat’s coloured zones and, while a great idea, this proved a little erratic at times. The mat certainly responded best to one child at a time, but still required the children to move at certain speeds to register on the motion sensor (this would be our main note for the developers). With a simple on/off switch on BeatBo’s foot the music, sounds, and lights are activated by moving BeatBo’s head. So much fun watching his little head wobbling and wiggling to the beat. The coloured buttons worked in a similar way to the BeatBelle’s functions offering up tunes and melodies to move around to. As with the BeatBelle the melodies varied in tempo and delivered an array of developmental activities. The mat has led functionality beneath the surface providing a lovely sensory experience, great with the lights out. Place the Fisher-Price BeatBo, BeatBelle or BeatBowWow in the conductor’s seat for sounds and phrases; these Fisher-Price toys are perfect for toddlers The smart touch bar, created for 360-degree play, features numbers one through five, all 26 letters of the alphabet, and instrument graphics, including a whistle and a drum. It also includes a bright green ramp and three colorful balls, a bat-at roller, and a spinner for a set of hands-on-activities that are ideal for toddlers. The Bright Beats train has 3 Smart Stages learning levels, which children can grow using hands-on activities, including a shape spinner and ABC roller; an engaging toddler toy tokeep baby busy

The second mode, Dance Party, encourages the baby to get up on his/her feet and move with the music, just like it’s a disco! (The lights for sure look like disco lights). This mode also helps baby identify spoken phrases and learn the sounds that the different instruments depicted on the plastic bar make. The last of the buttons, a yellow one, is for games and learning. Again it’s rhyme or music based, but includes games and songs like “Move and Freeze”, “Colours”, “Counting” and the “ABC Dance”. So, let’s get started! Parents can choose from three modes of play, each activated with a tiny button under the bar. The first mode, Piano Play, is perfect for sitting babies, allowing the baby to occupy the space in the middle and touch the bar to play. As the baby moves his or her hands along the bar, the notes will light up and play just like a piano. It's quite pricy for what it really is but there's no denying we'll get our money's worth from it as I'm sure it'll keep us all occupied well into the toddler years. A month in and we're starting to notice that the batteries are dying and it cuts out halfway through some songs but it keeps the little guy quiet and entertained so I'm sure we'll keep BeatBo fuelled for a while yet. It keeps most of the adults in the family entertained as well.

Our first average we look at for Fisher-Price Bright Beats Learning Train is to judge it against other products from the same brand, in this case it’s Fisher-Price. This tells us that there are a total of 37 Fisher-Price products at The Range. For toddlers the mat’s usage need to be modelled first to get the most out of it. Little Savvy for example would happily jump between sections of the mat, cutting it off mid activity or tune. It needs a degree of adult-led modelling before then allowing them independent enjoyment. Last but not the least, this toy helps develop sensory skills through the variety of colors, lights, and sounds that stimulate babies’ senses. Up for in depth review at the hands of Little Savvy and Baby Savvy were two offerings from Fisher Price. The Bright Beats Dance and Move BeatBelle; an interactive movement based bot. And along with this, the Bright Beats Learnin’ Lights Dance Mat – an extension of the Bright Beats range. However, we then like to go a little deeper to explore more detail about the product by looking at products in the same category as Fisher-Price Bright Beats Learning Train. That then tells us that there are 374 products in the Toys category at The Range. The BeatBelle essentially does three main things. It dances, interacts with singing, and displays sensory lighting. The ABC Dance is almost guaranteed to get a smile out of him; though for some reason the Rainbow Colours song makes him cry. Babies grow up fast, and that means they grow out of their toys fast, too. But some toys are made with kids’ development in mind, evolving with babies as they transition from sitting, to crawling, to standing and walking.
