About this deal

I need to write 15 words here but I don't know what to say other than that this is the most honest I've heard anyone be that's in the public eye. Listening to him narrate his life is heartbreaking and incredibly uplifting. Voicing things out loud that other people keep bottled up is extremely humbling and thought-provoking. Harriett recommends a noir novel in the same vein as Chandler - The Expendable Man by Dorothy B Hughes who did not receive the same acclaim even though she was writing at the same time and also had books optioned and made into Hollywood movies. I didn't take so long reading this because it's bad, or because it's long, I'm just really really bad at reading books. Limond has struggled with mental health issues such as depression and suicidal thoughts, as well as a history of alcoholism. He often openly discusses these issues on social media and in interviews. He has been teetotal since 2004. He has been in a relationship with Lynn McGowan since 2000. They have a son named Daniel McGowan Limond, born in 2010. Hello! I’m Brian Limond, aka Limmy. You might know me from Limmy’s Show. Or you might not know me at all. Don’t worry if you don’t.

My Autobiography

Because, as well as being a compelling first-person account of living with mental health issues, Surprisingly Down to Earth is, as the title promises, very funny. Uproariously, even. Limmy’s chatty, seemingly off-the-cuff patter marks him out as a natural storyteller, and the humour is easy and unforced, allowed to grow organically out of his skewed outlook on the world. And it’s genuinely interesting to see how Limmy’s varied talents, obsessions, hang-ups and life experiences coalesced into a successful career achieved on his own terms. At 49 years old, Limmy height not available right now. We will update Limmy's Height, weight, Body Measurements, Eye Color, Hair Color, Shoe & Dress size soon as possible.

It’s brilliant, he’s brilliant, I enjoyed every bit of this book (Audiobook that is) Definitely worth getting the audio book over the book itself. It’s so frank and honest, I was already a huge Limmy fan but this has made me a super fan! Very refreshing to hear his experiences of sexuality, mental illness and addiction, without any of the shame or male bravado that can make it hard to open up. I would recommend this book to everyone but I think a lot could be learned for teenagers and teenage boys. I love Limmy and really enjoy his humour, but this was just so beyond what I enjoy reading lol Of course, I didn’t expect jokes constantly and I honestly really enjoyed his view on mental illness and being human, even when his writing got very dark at times. I relate to a lot of the shit he says and thinks in a way I don’t with any other comedian, there’s something kinda unique about his style that is far more memorable and engaging somehow. Post moderation is undertaken full-time 9am-6pm on weekdays, and on a part-time basis outwith those hours. It's about being strange in a normal, subclinical* way: intrusive thoughts, groundless anxiety, reduced affect display, auditory hallucination, mild paranoia, misanthropy, hysteroid dysphoria. He is currently single. He is not dating anyone. We don't have much information about He's past relationship and any previous engaged. According to our Database, He has no children. Family

It’s a lot more honest and open than most celebrities’, goes in depth on accounts of his own mental state (the ‘evil voice inside his head’ and questioning whether or not he is a psychopath). The lows like his girlfriend seeing him out drunk and just ignoring him as well as his general struggles with jobs/life are fascinating to hear. World's Smallest Cat: Here are 10 breeds of adorable tiny cats that will always look like cute kittens - including the teeny tiny Devon Rex cat breed Hello hello! Long time reader, first time poster. For weeks now ive been looking for a sketch where limmy takes home a lady and she gets abducted by his wallpaper or by a guy living in a weird room in his house or she disappears in this weird room in hus house. I dont really remember it well but i remmber i loved it. Does any of this ring a bell for someone or did i dream this?? His story affirmed for me the notion that 'mental illness' reaches beyond the individual and is more a reflection of a dysfunctional world. The show featured a trip through time to 1950s Alabama, where the 13th Doctor (played by Jodie Whittaker) met civil rights activist Rosa Parks and watched her refuse to give up her bus seat for white passengers. The other reason Lloyd Cole didn't like the book was because he didn't find Limmy, as a person, "likable" and I have to disagree with him here. Clearly funny and displaying intelligence (of "some kind") Limmy also comes across here as a sensitive and thoughtful man. He speaks openly about his childood, his struggles with alcohol, his, often disastrous, relationships with women and his mental health issues. My impression was of an open, caring and, yes, likable person. So, you are wrong on that one, Lloyd. This isn't a self help book, nor does Limmy proclaim to be a kind of guru of mental wellness - He just explains it, warts and all and fully admits he doesn't understand it, it's just part of him. This is a refreshing read/listen in that way - Almost every other book with mental health as a cornerstone would try and offer some kind of help or explanation (nothing wrong with that at all, mind you) but in this Limmy just exposes it for the strange and maddening experience it can be and how it has defined certain moments or periods in his life. After continuing his comedy work for several years, Limmy was commissioned by BBC Scotland to create his own sketch show, Limmy's Show. The show ran for three series and a Christmas special between 2010 and 2013 and won two BAFTA Scotland awards. Limmy has also engaged in various other pursuits, such as writing several books and performing explicit live shows.

He is a member of famous Comedian with the age 49 years old group. Limmy Height, Weight & Measurements I always wondered if I was schizophrenic... Maybe just an overactive imagination. My mind likes to come up wi lots of thoughts and ideas, whether or no they're useful or make sense. I think that sort of thing can make you mental, depending on how severe it is and what kind of environment you're in. Fortunately I managed to find a place to put my kind of mind to good use.The deep function of laughter is apparently that it allows play / boundary learning / questioning social norms. So to be a comedian, you have be a step past your society. (I doubt funniness is linear in weirdness though.) And Limmy is obviously out there. He regularly tweets about how much he misses drinking (which I've never seen an alcoholic do), and satirises the now-daily flamewars of the shouting classes by taking absurd and alternating stances on every issue (...) . The book that Lloyd Cole, from out of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, famously described on Radio 4 as showing "intelligence of some kind", this is as honest and as readable an autobiography as you are going to find. From a literary point of view, it is not great, it is not particularly elaborately written, or even funny, but it is not meant to be, it is meant to be Limmy talking honestly about his life. And five stars for that.
